Notification with the passing of retired Northwest pilot David Delano Barstad, age 75.  Please see obituary information below.

Obituary ....................David Delano Barstad
David Delano Barstad was born May 29, 1942 in Iowa and passed away on December 30, 2017 of pneumonia, He was a 3-year survivor of Multiple Myeloma and a stem cell transplant. Preceded by parents Chester & Effie Barstad, brother Doug and sister Brenda. Survived by loving wife, Marsha, his children Daria (Dan) Lovette, Debra (Scott) Wiesner, and grandchildren Callie, Jillian, Gracyn, and Colin. Also survived by Marsha';s children James (Gale) Bird, Steven (Linda) Bird, Leslie Bird and 8 grandchildren. Graduated from San Juan High School. 1960. Member of Auburn Elks, VFW and Auburn Navy League. A Vietnam Navy veteran who served his country 26 years retiring as Commander. He started a second career as a pilot for Northwest Airlines. He enjoyed playing poker and golfing with his four-some Dennie, Gene and Bob. He will be missed by his fur-buddy Skipper. Dave was a Christian and a patriot and supported many military organizations. Celebration of Life 11:00am Lincoln Hills Community Church 950 E. Joiner Pkwy, Lincoln, Reception to follow at Springfield at Whitney Oaks Clubhouse, 2801 Springfield Dr. Rocklin.
