Captain Gerard “Jerry” Leo Bryndal, age 68.
Captain Bryndal joined Northwest Airlines 11-23-1984 and retired with
Delta Air Lines in 2017 as noted in his obituary. He is survived by his wife Mary Anne, and his

Obituary : On October 20th, 2021 Gerard Leo Bryndal passed
away after losing his third battle with cancer.
He was a hero and much loved by his family. Jerry was only
68 years old, born on September 29th, 1953 in Ohio and the son of Edward and
Mary Lou Bryndal. He retired to Savannah, GA with his wife, Mary Anne, after
completing a 33-year career flying for Northwest then Delta Airlines. During his career he flew over one million
people safely to their destinations, always with a smile on his face. Before
that he served 10 years as a pilot for the Navy, and Navy Reserves, achieving
the rank of Lt. Commander.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Anne, of 43 years, their
two daughters, Rebecca with husband Alex, and Anna with husband Joseph, and two
grandsons, Jeremy (8 years), and Mason (20 months), his mother, Mary Lou
Bryndal, his mother-in-law, Madeline Wellman, and his six siblings and their
families.
He loved playing golf, woodworking, building fine furniture,
working in his garden, and spending time with his family.
His funeral mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic
Church in Savannah on Monday, October 25th at 11:00 a.m. with Military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be
made in his name, Gerard Bryndal, to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
