___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Thomas Bailey is survived by his wife Sidney, daughter Sidney Ann (Julio) Arellana, son Thomas Brian (Karie) and five grand children.

After graduation from Mississippi State University, he joined the U S Air Force and went to flight training on the KC135. He was stationed at Columbus Air Force Base, just twenty miles from Dear Ole State.  He spent time in South East Asia refueling fight planes.

After serving his time at Columbus, he and his family traveled to Miami to apply for a job at National Airlines.  Upon being hired by National he got to see the world.

Tom and the family moved to his home town Lucedale, Mississippi and commuted to New York to fly for Pan American.  After Pan American folded he was hired by Delta Airlines.  He retired from Delta. All in all he really enjoy flying, but he always had a special place in his heart for National Airlines  and the friends he made there.

Lucedale is a small town like 2500 people. It is growing with people leaving the coast to get away from hurricanes. Tom enjoyed the outdoors and the easy life.  He planted blueberry trees(8), blackberry vines, and raspberry plants.  He left the strawberry patcher his wife. They had fun making jams and jellys. He will be missed but never forgotten
