Notice of passing….retired Delta pilot Captain TIMOTHY JOHN GALVIN ("T.J." GALVIN), age 74.  Captain GALVIN joined Delta Air Lines 08-15-1977 and was based 030/ATL.  He is survived by his wife Deborah "Debbie" and his sons Casey and Tag.  Obituary information may be viewed online at

Obituary : CAPT. TIMOTHY JOHN GALVIN ("T.J." GALVIN)

Capt. Timothy John Galvin ("T.J." Galvin), 74, of Watkinsville, Georgia passed away at 5:38 pm on February 3, 2022. The son of the late Timothy and Fay Galvin, T.J. was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 7, 1947. He graduated from Duquesne University in 1969. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Air Force as a Captain and flew the C-141 Starlifter during the Vietnam War. After his service, he was hired by Delta Air Lines in 1977 where he flew the Douglas DC-8 / DC-9, Lockheed L1011 TriStar, and the Boeing 727 / 757 / 767. During his time at Delta, he served as a Captain (727 / 757 / 767) and Flight Instructor (727). He flew 26 years for Delta and retired in 2003.

T.J. was preceded in death by his sister, Pat as well as his two brothers, James ("Jim") and David. He is survived by his wife, Deborah ("Debbie") and his two sons, Casey (Caroline - wife) and Tag.

He was a proud member of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and the Ashford Memorial Methodist Church in downtown Watkinsville, Georgia. He was an avid hunter, golfer, fisherman and sportsman. There are no funeral services scheduled at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
