___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Obituary :  David "Dave" Joseph Baudhuin, 63, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, from an aortic aneurysm. He was born January 20, 1959, in Rockford, the son of Paul and Annette Baudhuin.

David graduated from Boylan Catholic High School and enlisted in the United Sates Navy. After scoring exceptionally high on his placement tests, he was recruited by the U.S. Naval Academy. He graduated from Annapolis to eventually become a flight instructor and a P-3 pilot.

In 1988, David left the Navy as a Naval Aviator and relocated with his family to Lakeville, MN. He loved spending time with his children, whether it was coaching soccer, being a math tutor, or going on family vacations. David was a pilot for Delta Airlines for 32 years, until he hung up his Captain’s hat in 2020.

David was loving retirement with his wife, Lisa. Together they traveled cross country in their RV, stopping along the way to spend quality time with family. In the winters, they snow birded in Las Vegas, NV with his parents, playing cards, golfing, and enjoying each other’s company.

David’s personality was larger than life which matched the size of his heart. He lived life to the fullest and brought so much joy and energy everywhere he went. David was the first to offer help to anyone and topped it off with his one-of-a-kind sense of humor. In addition to serving his community, he was active member of the Knights of Columbus, an avid Vikings fan, and a loving family man.

David is survived by his father and mother, Paul and Annette Baudhuin; his wife, Lisa Baudhuin; his son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Caitlin Baudhuin; his daughters, Jaclyn and Jessica Baudhuin (partner, Clinton Polk); his sister, Pat Naruz and her husband Larry, his brother, Mike Baudhuin and his wife Susan, and his brother, Tom Baudhuin and his wife Cindy; his step-children, Zac (partner, Ashley) and Melissa Cornett (partner, Josh); eleven grandchildren, among countless other friends and family that loved him dearly.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Rockford, with Reverend David Beauvais officiating. Visitation details will be on our website as they are available. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com
