___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. From the Sweetgrass County Sheriff’s Office

The Sweet Grass County Coroner's Office is investigating three deaths that occurred earlier today. The Sweetgrass County Dispatch Center received a call this morning reporting that an individual was in medical distress. The Sweet Grass County ambulance was dispatched to that residence located northwest of Reed Point Montana. When responders arrived, they found all three individuals at the scene unresponsive. The names and particulars of the case are not being released at this time pending notification of family members. The ambulance was hindered by cold temperatures and snow drifts in that area. The road department responded to the area to assist with plows. The Big Timber Fire Department, Search and Rescue and Sweetgrass County deputies also responded to that area. Stillwater County dispatched fire and EMS as mutual aid. Sheriff Alan Ronneberg wishes to thank all those that were involved in this tragic case. The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE

The three people found dead in Reed Point have been identified by the Sweet Grass County Sheriff’s Office. Gary Morton, 81, Angelika Morton,58, and Paul Ray, 71, were identified as the victims. An investigation into their deaths is still ongoing, however, carbon monoxide poisoning is suspected from a faulty furnace.

According to the sheriff’s office, dispatch received an emergency call just after 8:00 am on Dec. 23 reporting a man was having a possible heart attack.

The Sweet Grass County Ambulance was dispatched to the scene and St. Vincent’s HELP FLIGHT was called out, however, responding units were impeded by extreme cold and snow drift covered roads.

After first responders were able to get to the scene, they found the victims unresponsive.

“We appreciate the efforts of all those involved. Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of these three individuals,” the Sweet Grass County Sheriff’s Office wrote.
