As noted in the recent March issue of the Air Line Pilot magazine’s In Memoriam column …..the passing of Delta F/O Steven B. Fulaytar in December of 2022.  Colonel, USAF (Retired) Steven Brian Fulaytar joined Delta Air Lines 09-11-1997.  He is survived by his wife Samantha, and by his sons Justin and Mark.

Steven B. Fulaytar, Colonel,  USAF (Retired) passed away on 23 December 2022, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He has gone on to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Steve is survived by his wife Samantha, his two sons Justin and Mark, his parents Don and Anita Fulaytar, his sister Cheryl Payson and brother-in-law Ric Payson, and his brother Chris Fulaytar.

Steve dedicated 32 years of service to the military. He served in the Alabama Air National Guard, active duty Air Force, and the Air Force Reserve.

He dreamt of being a pilot from a very young age. He flew the T-37, T-38, WC-135, and C-130 in the military. He went on to become a commercial airline pilot on the 727, MD-88, and 737.

Steve loved his family. He was a great husband, wonderful father, a good son and brother, and a mentor to many. He leaves behind his family, friends from childhood, high school, & Auburn University, fellow pilots, and the military service members he was honored to serve with.

Steve will be buried at the National Cemetery at Montevallo, Alabama on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 11:45 a.m.

Interment will follow in Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama.
