___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Obituary :  Richard Cecil Lamb, 82, of Goffstown, NH, died Friday July 21, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 15th, 1941 in Burlington, VT, the son of the late Cecil Lamb. He had been a resident of Goffstown since 2008, formerly living in Grand Isle and North Hero, VT and Londonderry, NH.

After graduating from Burlington, VT High School in 1958 he earned his commercial pilot license. He completed officer candidate school and as a commissioned officer he flew for the Vermont Army Air Guard. He was hired by Northeast Airlines in 1966 which eventually merged with Delta Air Lines. Captain Lamb went on to fly for Delta for over 35 years, accumulating over 25,000 hours in the air. During his career he commanded the DC-9, Boeing 727, 757 and 767. Richard was an avid duck and deer hunter. He learned all the tools of the construction trade from his father - a long-time expert builder himself. He passed on his love for horses to his daughters and spent many years driving them to horse shows throughout New England. Spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Champ were some of his greatest joys.
