Robert Walters Obituary

Graveside Memorial Services for Robert Edmond Walters, age 77, of Picayune, MS who passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023 will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 9:00 AM, at the Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS. 400 Veterans Ave, Biloxi, MS 39531.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:45AM, at the Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans, LA. 105 N Roadway Street, New Orleans, LA 70124

Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Robert was a native of New Orleans, LA. He was a born aviator and began his lifelong career as a commercial airline pilot with Southern Airways. His illustrious career concluded with Northwest Airlines/Delta Airlines, where he proudly piloted the Boeing 747-400 airliner.

He attended St. Martin Episcopal School and then from there he went on to Georgia Tech. He was an active member of the Rocky Mountain Harley Davidson motorcycle club, Northshore Model A Club, AOPA, EAA, Southern Yacht Club, as well as a Vietnam Veteran.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Richard Walters, Sr. and Florence Singreen Walters; and his brother, Charles "Dickie" Richard Walters, Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janice Addie Cummings Walters; his son, Robert (Bambi) E Walters, Jr.; his daughter, Nancy (Chad) Reid Walters Byrne; his step-son, Randy Cain; his step-daughters, Tara (Marcos) Medina and Tamira Trujillo; his 7 grandchildren, Liam Walters, Avery Walters, Harlan Walters, Aidan Byrne, Alanna Byrne, Sienna Medina, and Ashlyn Medina.
