___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Our beloved Walton McJordan, Jr. “Mac”, age 87 passed away on July 13, 2024 at Haven Hospice in Chiefland, Florida.

He was the son of Margaret and Walton McJordan, Sr. of Orlando, Florida who both preceded him in death, as did his brother Richard McJordan of Orlando, Florida.

Mac is survived by his wife Barbara Ann McJordan, sons Walt III and Douglas McJordan, and grandsons Austin and Walt IV.

Mac started flying at the age of 17 by bringing hunters into duck blinds then made a living by transporting tropical fish from South America. He then joined the Army in 1959 and flew for Air America for 3 years in Cambodia and Laos. He then flew commercial airlines for Southern Northwest and Delta and retired after 30 years as Captain.

During his life Mac started and worked many businesses including KOA Campgrounds, Brown Pelican Restaurant, Cypress Station, Pelican Reality, and Cedar Key RV Resort. He also volunteered to serve on many committees including 30 years with the Levy County Development Authority. Mac was a passionate hunter and traveled the world collecting trophies. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend and is flying with angels now.
