Navy veteran, DL Capt. Chris Burton

December 16, 1965 ~ February 26, 2025

 


Delta Air Lines Captain Christopher “Chris” Donald Burton, age 59, of Southlake, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.  Chris joined Delta Air Lines 10-09-2000 and was based Atlanta.  He is survived by his wife Bei and by his children Grace and Harrison.

Born on December 16, 1965, Chris grew up in Euclid, OH, and graduated from Euclid High School in 1984. He went on to earn two Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Physics from THE Ohio State University in 1989 and a Master’s degree in Physics from Texas A&M University.

 

Following his education, Chris served proudly in the U.S. Navy as a naval aviator for ten years, flying an S-3 Viking off an aircraft carrier. After his distinguished service as a lieutenant, he transitioned into commercial aviation, beginning his career with United Airlines in 1999 before joining Delta Air Lines in 2000, where he has served as a captain until the present.

 

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Bei; his children, Grace and Harrison; his mother, June; and his brothers, Ken and Scott. He is also fondly remembered by his uncles Ed and Don, cousin Ainsley, nieces Emily and Amey, and nephew Adam.

 

A visitation for Christopher will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Keller's Old Town Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, TX 76248. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, TX 76248. A committal service will occur Friday, March 21, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at External Service Location, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
