___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our PCN Flight West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Mary Evelyn Cox

December 8, 1938 – March 17, 2023

Mary Evelyn Cox passed away on March 17th, 2023 at the age of 84 in Homestead, Florida. Preceded in death by her husband Lynn, parents Lonnie and Dauphine Moon, sisters Norma and Beverly Joe, and granddaughter Rachel. She passed away from advanced Alzheimer’s disease.

Mary was born in Texarkana, Arkansas, Dec 8th, 1938, graduated from Texarkana High School and married her school sweetheart, Lynn Cox, in 1958. She raised three daughters: Julie, Laurie (Terry) and Marianne. Mary loved and adored her grandchildren: Christopher, Michael, Terry Jr., Shane, Miranda, Kylie and Rachel. She leaves behind many great-grandchildren.

For years, “Miss Mary” was a daily patron of Lolly’s restaurant where she made many new friends and enjoyed socializing in her later years. She enjoyed word searches, watching Jeopardy, and spending time with her family. Mary was an excellent baker and cook. She will be deeply missed by our family, but we know she is at peace with Jesus Christ in Heaven.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmswoodlawnnaranja.com for the Cox family.
