David Joe “Bo” Copeland, 86, of San Antonio and
previously Kerrville passed away on September 28, 2025 in San Antonio, TX……………..
David joined Delta Air Lines 08-08-1966. He was Dallas based, then JFK prior to retirement. David is survived by his wife Marsha, and by
his sons and their families.

David was born in Shreveport, LA to Mary Voncile
Copeland and Joe Dixon Copeland on October 3, 1938. He attended school in
Pettus, TX and Louisiana Tech University before serving in the United States
Marine Corps where he became a Naval Aviator flying C-130 aircraft. He was a
veteran of the Vietnam War receiving an Honorable Discharge with the rank of
Captain. He married Marsha Eubanks Copeland on August 26, 1965 in Marietta, GA.
After leaving the military he was employed with Lockheed Aircraft in Marietta,
GA then in 1966 he was hired by Delta Airlines where he continued to devote his
highest skills in aviation education and safety. He retired in 1996 as
international Captain with Delta on the Boeing 767. He was a loved and devoted
family man and will be deeply missed.
His spouse Marsha Eubanks Copeland and sons Ross
Alan Copeland and Douglas Ray Copeland and their spouses Tracy Colyer Copeland
and Kellie Marie Copeland survive David. Surviving grandchildren are Connor
Lewis Copeland, Reid Palmer Copeland, Kieran Colyer Copeland and Devin Alan
Copeland.
Services for David will be at Fort Sam Houston
Cemetery in San Antonio on October 17 at 1:15 PM with military officiating.
Burial will follow. Arrangements are by Sunset Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to the Disabled American
Veterans Association or the charity of your choice.
The Copeland family wishes to extend their sincere
thanks to all who proudly served in the military of the United States of
America and their supporting families.
