___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our PCN Flight West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

  4. I’m not a “face page” subscriber so I’ll answer here. Bob was one of the first Delta people I got to know when I showed up for training in 1965. Good man he was, good husband, gentleman all the all the way. Gave me my international line check on the L 1011.
    Rest in peace my friend

Bob was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. His presence made Delta a better airline and the world a better place to live.

  8. Within minutes of meeting Bob, it was clear he was a person you could trust with your most private thoughts. A gentle soul. Talented in so many ways. I think there was only one time I outshot Bob on the Sporting Clay course. His generosity shown in many ways including the time he agreed to meet a young aspiring airline pilot friend of mine to offer career guidance. It comes as no surprise that he be chosen as Delta Airline's lead check pilot. Gone but not forgotten, one of the greats!
