Obituary : On October 20th, 2021 Gerard Leo Bryndal passed away after losing his third battle with cancer.

He was a hero and much loved by his family. Jerry was only 68 years old, born on September 29th, 1953 in Ohio and the son of Edward and Mary Lou Bryndal. He retired to Savannah, GA with his wife, Mary Anne, after completing a 33-year career flying for Northwest then Delta Airlines.  During his career he flew over one million people safely to their destinations, always with a smile on his face. Before that he served 10 years as a pilot for the Navy, and Navy Reserves, achieving the rank of Lt. Commander.

 

Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Anne, of 43 years, their two daughters, Rebecca with husband Alex, and Anna with husband Joseph, and two grandsons, Jeremy (8 years), and Mason (20 months), his mother, Mary Lou Bryndal, his mother-in-law, Madeline Wellman, and his six siblings and their families.

 

He loved playing golf, woodworking, building fine furniture, working in his garden, and spending time with his family.

 

His funeral mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Savannah on Monday, October 25th at 11:00 a.m. with Military honors.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in his name, Gerard Bryndal, to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Obituary : RICHARD MONTGOMERY BRINER

Richard Montgomery Briner, Age 80, of Sanger, TX passed away peacefully on October 18, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 26, 1941, in Jacksonville, FL to Captain Richard and Dorothy Briner (USN retired) of Carlisle, PA.

 

Richard, also known as Dick, grew up in a Navy aviation family and lived at many bases across the U.S. as well as the Philippines. He attended William Tennent High School in Southampton, PA where he met his future wife Carolyn Mowers. Excelling in math and wrestling, he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1964. He married Carolyn in 1965 at the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis, MD. They were stationed at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, FL where Dick flew the A-4 and A-7 attack aircraft. In July 1967 he served on the USS Forrestal flying combat missions into North Vietnam. After returning from a mission a catastrophic inferno broke out on the ship’s flight deck. During this tragedy he helped injured sailors and aided in the recovery of the damaged ship.

 

In 1970 Dick transitioned from the active Navy and started flying for Delta Airlines. He and Carol moved to Texas and quickly settled on a grass airstrip near Sanger. Dick transferred to the Navy Reserve where he flew the F-8 and F-4 fighters at Navy Dallas. “Tricky” was known for a good Navy low pass or two over the airstrip in the early years where Old Glory was always flying high.

 

During his airline career Dick flew the L-100, DC-8, DC-9, B-727, B-737, L-1011, B-757 and B-767 aircraft. While flying the B-737, he instructed and mentored Delta pilots as a Line Check Airman fueling his passion for helping fellow aviators. In May 2001 he retired after 31 years as a B-767 Captain with an epic retirement flight and party in Nice, France.

 

Over the years, Dick had many interests that fed his zest for life and relentless work ethic. He started several small businesses, ran cattle with his wife and sons, raised horses and goats, and he was instrumental in designing and developing an addition to the airstrip community near Sanger. Dick loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He often told humorous stories accompanied by a quick smile. He also enjoyed flying, horseback riding, his animals, and his various homestead improvement projects. Dick was meticulous and ingenious; he could design, build, and fix almost anything—he instilled in his sons the importance of “attention to detail” to get the job done right the first time. He was a gifted horseman, a tremendous athlete, and it was common to see him put a wrestling move or two on his buddies or sons in the squadron, house, or hangar…even in his later years.

 

Dick was generous and he enjoyed helping others. He coached Little League Baseball and Pee Wee Football during his sons’ school years. He started and coached Sanger’s first youth wrestling team. He was known for giving rides to friends of all ages in his Christen Eagle II or vintage Cessna 140. Often, these flights were a first-time airplane ride or an aerobatic thrill flight. Dick taught both of his sons to fly. In addition, he had a passion for mentoring young aspiring service members and pilots to help them achieve their goals and dreams.

 

Richard Briner was a courageous man having endured dementia for an extended period, always with his loving wife Carol at his side. His love of life, his humor and his smile will be remembered. He is survived by his wife Carol of 56 years; his sister Anne Supper (Lee); two sons Rich (Annette) and John (Bryn); his 5 grandchildren: Rachael, Katherine, Reese, Andrew, and Zachary; two nieces Nancy Fitts (Cubby) and Caty Fortuin (Matt).

 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 10:30-11:00 am at the DeBerry Funeral Home, 2025 West University Drive, Denton, Texas with a service immediately following at 11:00 am. Interment with military honors will occur at a later date on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Academy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Dementia Society of America.

Lynch Jr., age 78.  Captain Lynch first joined Northeast Airlines 11-04-1968 and retired with Delta Air Lines, based JFK/031.  Widowed in September 2014 by the passing of his wife Joanne, Captain Lynch is survived by his sons and their families.

Obituary : John ''Jack'' R. Lynch of Wolfeboro, NH passed away on Wednesday October 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born on October 22, 1942 to Raymond Lynch and Marion (Drumm) Lynch of Pepperell, MA. Jack was raised in Pepperell, and while attending the schools there, he excelled athletically, especially in basketball and track. Upon graduation from high school, he would make a decision that would change the course of his life: he applied and entered the United States Army Warrant Officer Aviation Program during the Vietnam War. Certainly this decision had its risks, but Jack wanted to create a future for himself, and serving his country was the right choice for him. Jack attended and graduated from flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama and went on to become a decorated combat Huey helicopter pilot during his time in the service. Upon leaving active duty in 1968, he continued to follow his passion for aviation, attending Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston while working on his civilian fixed wing certifications.

It was during his time at Wentworth he met the love of his life: his late wife Joanne ONeil in Kenmore Square, Boston. They were married in 1969, and Jack began his lifelong career as a commercial airline pilot for Northeast Air Lines, which later became Delta Air Lines. Jack and Joanne made their home in Duxbury, MA, where they worked tirelessly to create a warm and loving environment for family and friends. They would come to raise three sons and found great enjoyment attending their sons athletic events. Additionally, a date night at The Milepost in Duxbury was a favorite. In his free time, Jack really enjoyed boating in the waters around Duxbury Bay and Cape Cod. He and his family also enjoyed the summer months in Wolfeboro, NH on Lake Winnipesaukee. He referred to the time spent in Duxbury and Wolfeboro as the best of both worlds. Jack dedicated 33 years to Delta, retiring as a Captain who flew internationally. He loved flying ''across the pond'' to European destinations, especially Italy and Greece, and he often spoke of the food and art he enjoyed. He had many stories to share with his family, and he always returned with gifts for his loving wife Joanne. After Jack retired from Delta, both he and Joanne built a new home in Wolfeboro, NH. In these later years, Jack and Joanne enjoyed traveling around the country as well, especially to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida when it became cold during the winter months. Jack also developed a passion for cooking and was often focused on the meals he would prepare for days to come when family was gathered. All that said, nothing brought him as much joy as being the doting ''Deeda'' to his six grandchildren---Sean Pat, Erin, Abby, Kathleen, Hannah, and Reagan. Jack also adored all of the family dogs.

Jack can be best described as a dedicated family man who was humble, compassionate, and generous. As a man of faith, he truly enjoyed helping others and felt it his responsibility. His larger than life personality, infectious positive nature, and friendly disposition made him the life of the party even if he was just at the grocery store downtown. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne, in 2014, and is survived by his three sons and their families: Sean and Lisa Lynch of Weymouth, MA; Ryan and Beth Lynch of Hanover, MA; and Chris and Heather Lynch of Dover, NH. He is also survived by his sister Betty Lynch of Pepperell, MA. Services, provided by Lord Funeral Home in Wolfeboro, NH, are private.

Wife:   Joanne K. (O'Neil) Lynch, of Wolfeboro, N.H., passed away peacefully in the safety and warmth of her New Hampshire home, September 26, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family, and overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee, one of her favorite places.

Joanne was born June 8, 1945, to John and Doris O'Neil of Dorchester, Mass. She was raised in both Dorchester and Weymouth, Mass.  Joanne graduated from Weymouth High School in 1963 and went on to receive her bachelor's degree in Education from Bridgewater State College in 1967.

She fulfilled her dream of becoming a school teacher and taught elementary school for the town of Weymouth………...

Obituary : Padraic Conan McCracken at the age of 50 lost his battle to brain cancer, dying peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, in his home in Longwood, Florida, surrounded by his wife Kelly and children Fiona and Liam.

 

Padraic had been diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade IV, the most aggressive form of a deadly brain cancer two years earlier. Similar to his walk in life, he fought his cancer bravely and fiercely seeking treatments at Duke, MD Anderson, UCLA, and here in Orlando. During his battle he underwent two brain surgeries, multiple radiation treatments, chemotherapy, blood transfusions and associated surgeries and hospitalizations.

 

Pat, who grew up with the nickname Paddy, fought his battle against cancer like he lived his life: with a quiet but heroic reserve, fiercely living the life he had left with the people he loved most. He traveled the world with his family, watched his children run 19 mile races, and even saw his son complete a 39 mile race challenge at the age of 15. He loved to watch his daughter ride horses competitively and watch his son play soccer. They took hikes, road trips, played games, attended family birthday parties, and so much more; and that was all after cancer. Before cancer he was the dad that threw the kids in the pool while the other grown ups were talking on the side, he taught countless kids how to skateboard and ride bikes, and volunteered at the kids’ school to take the kids canoeing. He took professional photographs of his daughters varsity cheer squad and never missed an opportunity to love on his kids. Pat lived a more present and engaged life with his children and wife, than most people live in a lifetime.

 

Paddy was born the second of four children in Queens, New York, to Rosemary and Bill McCracken on August 27, 1969. He grew up in a fireman’s family in the Irish neighborhood of Marine Park in Brooklyn, New York. The family moved to Longwood, Florida, where Paddy finished middle and high school. After high school Paddy joined the Navy, entering college with an NROTC scholarship. He attended Jacksonville University, where he met his wife Kelly. He graduated in 1992, and was commissioned as a Naval Officer. He married Kelly at Annunciation Catholic Church on July 9th, 1994. Pat’s military career found them living in many places including San Diego, CA (USS SIDES FFG-14) Pensacola, FL (flight training) and Fairfax, VA (BUPERS). Paddy eventually separated from the Navy to pursue his dream of commercial air flying. He was intensely proud to work for Delta Airlines and to accomplish his lifelong dream to become a captain at his airline of choice.

 

In his spare time Paddy had many hobbies that he perused with a pilots passion. He was a mountain climber, scuba diver, and sky diver. He was a watch maker, photographer, and loved to tinker with his old Jeep. He loved hiking, working out, and had a deep love of history and pride in our country and his Irish heritage.

 

Pat will probably be best known for his deep love to his family, his quiet but commanding presence, his dry sense of humor and contagious laugh, his love of adventure, his honor and integrity, and his undying loyalty to all of those he loved.

Obituary : Stan Jurgelsky, 88, of Navarre, Florida, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Friday, February 5, 2021.

 

He was born in Englishtown, New Jersey, and graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in Science and lettering in basketball and baseball.

 

Stan’s many accomplishments included: one year of teaching, four years in the Navy, almost thirty-four years with Delta Airlines, certification on nine aircrafts flying all over the world, serving two terms on Delta’s Master Executive Council, founder and owner of a Lear Jet company called “Jet America”, owner of a restaurant called “Captain Orange”, formation of a family owned real estate company for which he personally obtained real estate, general contractor, and mortgage broker licenses. He built many beautiful residences and multifamily homes in the Navarre area, including his own home. He was an animal lover and enjoyed feeding the neighborhood cats and dogs while on his walks, loved gardening and landscaping and won “yard of the month” one year. Everyone loved his mustache, his stories, and his numerous acts of kindness and generosity. Stan will be missed terribly, but never forgotten by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

 

Stan is survived by his loving wife of 63 ½ years, Adele; his daughter, Debbie, in Louisiana; daughter, Cathy, and her husband, Harry, in Navarre; son, Stan, and his wife, Anita, in Alabama; son, Steve, and his wife, Terri, in Louisiana; and his brother, William, in Virginia. He has five loving grandchildren, Harry, Melissa, Ryan, Sarah, and Stefanie; four great grandchildren, Richie, Samantha, Benjamin, and Tommy; and his two cats, Torty and Socks.

 

Funeral Services will be held for Stan Jurgelsky at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2021, at St. Sylvester’s Catholic Church, with Father John Kelly officiating. A short service will directly follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery.

 

Lewis Funeral Home of Navarre has been entrusted with arrangements.

 

The family requests memorial donations may be made, in Stan’s name, to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
