August 2, 1944 ~ June 30, 2012
 
Captain Rutledge was 67 years of age at the time of his passing.  Captain Rutledge is noted on the roster with a Delta hire date 10-18-1976, also based DFW and at the time of his retirement based ATL, Dept. 031.

Subject: PCN - Death of Retired Captain Bill Rutledge

Mark,

Frankie Rutledge asked me to have you place the following onto the
communications net. John Faunce

Retired Captain Bill Rutledge died June 30th after a 49 month battle with
Bile Duct Cancer. Bill was born in 1944. He was a Dartmouth Graduate, a
Northeast, & Delta Pilot based in both MIA and ATL. Bill retired in 2004.

There was a private Celebration of Life in Friendship in Maine on July 29th.
Bill's ashes are in the Gulf Stream East of his Boca Raton, Florida home.
He is survived by Frankie Rutledge, his wife of 44 years , their daughter,
Anna Michelle, and two grandsons - Gray and Knox.
