Word has been received with the passing of retired NEA/DL pilot Captain Paul William Cantin, age 69.  Paul hired on with Northeast 07-15-1968 and was based BOS.  A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 3:00 P.M at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange, FL 32127.

Obituary for Paul William Cantin

CANTIN, Paul, William 69, of Port Orange, FL, the husband of Ruth (Martin) Cantin died at his home on Thursday, September 5, 2013. A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 3:00 P.M at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange, FL 32127. Born in Hartford, CT July 5 1944, he was the youngest son of the late Raoul and Aurora (Gagne) Cantin. Paul is a U.S. Army Veteran having proudly served his country from 1962 to 1966. At age 19, he was accepted into flight school and became the youngest pilot in the U.S. Army. He served as Chief Warrant Officer with the 173rd Brigade as a UH-1D helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1966 and was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. Paul continued his aviation career as a pilot with Delta Airlines, from which he retired as Captain after 34 years of service in 2003. Paul enjoyed his retirement traveling with his wife Ruth, playing golf and playing blues harmonica. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Amy Cantin-Kaye and her husband Steven Kay of Hopkinton, MA, and his son Joel Cantin and his wife Susan of Fishers, IN; his grandchildren, Jessica and Thomas Cantin, and Lex and Margo Kaye, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his six brothers; Norman, Raymond, Gerald, Maurice, and Richard Cantin, Leo Guerard and his two sisters Murielle Adams and Cecile Grout.
