I want to
post the below to Tom Malone's death notice:
Tom (my uncle) did fly his final flight on Oct 2, 2013, after a hard fought battle with Parkinson's and tumors on the left side of his face and neck.
Although his body gave out, his mind was clear until the end. For those of us who knew him, all of his charm, wit and humor were there!
He was born and raised in Yonkers, New York. Following high school, he joined the Air Force and learned to fly in the base flying club. His airline career included: United, Eastern, Western, Icelandic (while on furlough from WAL) and finally Delta.
He found great joy in his career as a pilot, and hoped that those who follow will enjoy it much as he did. To the end he loved telling stories from the "old" days, and was very much interested in the future of piloting and the airline industry. He was very hopeful that today's, and tomorrow's pilots find the same high level of comradery that made his career so special.
I am sure that he had Saint Peter laughing.

US. MY DAUGHTER AND SON AND A CARETAKER. AT THE END HE WAS PARALYZED, COULD HEAR
BUT NOT ABLE TO RESPOND. HE HAD PARKINSONS, CANCER, AND FUSED SPINE AND
NECK. THANKS FOR GETTING THE MESSAGE OUT.

SOCIETY, 19051 COUNTY HWY. I, FERGUS FALLS, MINNASOTA 56537. MY BROTHER WAS IN A
WHEEL CHAIR FOR 35 YRS FROM A PLANE ACCIDENT. HE STARTED SCS FOR RESARCH ONLY.
THEY DO ALOT OF RESARCH ON MS. PARKINSONS ,AND SPINAL CORD INJURYS. I HAD A
LUNG TRANS PLANT THREE YEARS AGO. SADLY MY BRO DIED AT THE SAME TIME FROM THE
SAME LUNG CONDITION THAT I HAD.TOM WAS ILL AT THE TIME AND HE TOOK CARE OF ME
VERY WELL. I OWE TOM MY LIFE. HE GAVE ME EVERTHING I EVER HAD OR WILL HAVE.THE
LITE HAS GONE OUT OF MY LIFE. HE WAS ALSO A GOOD FATHER TO OUR THREE KIDS AND A
GOOD GRANDFATHER TO THREE GRANDKIDS.THANK YOU DICK.
