July 16, 1934 ~ January 29, 2014

  Notification with the passing of PAA/DL retired pilot Captain Harold Cleaver, age 79.  I believe Captain Cleaver joined Pan American 07-27-1964 and retired with Delta Air Lines in 1994, based 031/NYC.

HAROLD T. CLEAVER

Harold T. Cleaver, 79, of Stuart, died January 29, 2014 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart.

He was born in Andrews, Indiana, and had been a resident of Stuart for 33 years, having moved here from Berlin, Germany. He was a graduate of Purdue University. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, in which he was a Strategic Air Command Pilot for 7 years. Upon leaving the Air Force, he became a pilot for Pan American Airways. Later he joined and retired from Delta Air Lines. Harold was a member of the Yacht & Country Club of Stuart and served as Golf Chairman, Commodore, and President of the Board of Governors. Harold dedicated his life to the love and security of his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Julia Ann Cleaver. He is predeceased by his oldest child Thomas Edward Cleaver. Survivors include daughters Jo Ellen Vork, Ann (Roy) Milke, Pamela Cleaver, all of the Phoenix area, and Patricia Cleaver of Palm Harbor, FL; 7 grandchildren, Israel and Melissa Sotelo, Nick Cleaver, Shelby Olson, Matthew, Brian and Andrew Milke; 2 great grandchildren, Londyn Cleaver and Sasha Sotelo. Harold is also survived by his twin brother Albert and his wife Phyllis. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00AM, Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart. Private inurnment will be at a later date in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Phi Beta Psi Sorority, 2991 SE San Jeronimo Road, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952.
