Raymond Frederick Merrill, 84, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2014. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force for 20 years. After leaving the military, he was a proud pilot for National Airlines and he never let anybody forget this with all the stories he told. Raymond Frederick Merrill was a native of Greenport, New York and moved to this area from Miami, FL in 1985.
Survivors include Dennis G. Merrill (son), Gary G. Merrill (son), Diane M. Merrill (daughter), Gayle M. Merrill (daughter), five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and Norman Merrill (brother). He is predeceased by his loving wife Joan of 54 years.
A funeral service will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Ocala on Friday, May 16th, 2014 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to  St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .

Arrangement information has been received concerning Ray Merrill's services which will be held on May 16, 2014 at 1030 AM. Details and a note from his son below.

I have sent you the link to Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home about my fathers funeral info. They now have his name listed in their obituary section. If you would please let everyone know that the family has asked that the visitation time is only for immediate family. The service will start at 10:30 and anyone wishing to go down to the cemetery is welcome to do so.

News has been received of the passing of FE Ray Merrill April 22nd. His family is planning to meet later this week to make decisions and schedule arrangements.
