Mr. Joseph Robert Oliver, of Dothan, AL passed away, Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Flowers Hospital. He was 76.
 
Born August 17, 1937 in Rotan, TX to the late Milford Edwin & Stella Smith Oliver, Mr. Oliver’s main interest was flying, where he flew in his Cessna 172 many times. His career was devoted to the aviation industry. He was a huge fan for the San Francisco 49ers, and was a member of the Dothan Elks Lodge 1887. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Oliver of Dothan; his daughter, Terri (Mark) Jenkins of Albuquerque, NM; step-daughters, Tammy (Ed) Stuart of Dothan; Susan (Jeff) Barrett of Dothan, and Sherry (Timmy) Ward of Dothan; son, Tony (Shirley) Oliver of Yorktown, VA; brother, Ed (Susan) Oliver of Santa Cruz, CA; his grandchildren, Erin Scalise, James Spence, Samantha & Elizabeth Oliver, Curtis (Heather) Stuart, Laura (Ben) Pippin, Bailey Barrett, Drake Ward, and T.J. Ward; great-grandchildren, Sean, Ava, Nicolette, Tatiana, Taylor, Shelby, and Shawna.
 
A memorial service will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Highland Park United Methodist Church.
 
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dothan Animal Shelter, 295 Jerry Dr. Dothan, Al 36303 or to Highland Park United Methodist Church building fund.
