Sztanyo, Iris Ann (Forshee), West Branch, Michigan. Iris Ann Sztanyo passed
peacefully and quietly from this earthbound life into life anew on February
26th, 2016 at 3:26 am. Born in Twining, Michigan on January 30, 1925 Iris was
the second child and only daughter to Clare and Alpha Forshee.
Her death was preceded by her beloved husband of 72 years, 5 months earlier. In Iris’ home-going she can now turn the tables on Stan by using one of his often spoken refrains, “Honey, I’m home!” She is survived by her three children; Richard (Sheila) Sztanyo of Pelham, AL; Marcia (Frank) Duncan of Frankfort, IL; and Mark (Barbara) Sztanyo of Florence, KY. She leaves eight grandchildren: Jimmy, Tracy, Mike, Brian, Shannon, Eric, Darcy, and Kelly. Iris loved her fifteen great-grandchildren: Laura, Jake, David, Marisa, Joseph, Hallie, Braxton, Emil, Elaina, Sawyer, Brantley, Corin, Jackson, Bailey, and Rafe.
At age eighteen, Iris climbed on a train and traveled from her home in Michigan to Kissimmee, FL to be with her boyfriend before he headed off to war. While there, she asked her parents for permission and received approval to marry Stan. As a 50+ year member of Judson Baptist Church of Prescott, Iris lived a life of faith, family, cooking, golf and gardening.
