DL Capt Gerald 'Jerry Carr

Military veteran, DL Capt. Gerald ‘Jerry’ Carr
April 10, 1928 ~ January 2, 2018
 
Word has reached us with the passing of Delta Golden Wings member retired Delta pilot Captain Gerald Everard Carr Jr., age 89.  Captain Carr joined Delta Air Lines 03-05-1956 and retired with Delta in 1988, based Atlanta.  Widowed in July of 2015, Captain Carr is survived by his children plus grand- and great grandchildren.  Services for Captain Carr are planned for this Saturday January 6th at 1:00PM, at 
Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home located in Peachtree City, Georgia.....visitation one hour prior to services.

Obituary.................... Gerald Everard Carr
Gerald E. Carr, Jr., 89, of Peachtree City, passed away January 2, 2018. Captain Jerry was born on April 10, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio, but spent most of his life in Peachtree City, Georgia. He served his country in World War II and Korea in the United States Marine Corp. He joined Delta Airlines in 1956 and retired in 1988. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City, Georgia.
 
Jerry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jackie Saunders Carr of Peachtree City, Georgia. He is survived by his sons, Michael J. (Kristie) Carr of Indian Rocks Beach, FL and Christopher B. (Kari) Carr of Cornelius, N.C.; daughter, Patricia (Ken) Bragg of Burleson, TX; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Bertolini.
 
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City with Pastor Billy Rowe officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 PM prior to the service. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to dementia research or a local hospice of your choice.

Mrs. Jacqueline Saunders Carr of Peachtree City, GA, died July 15, 2015.
Mrs. Carr was born in Goldsboro, NC, and was a 1944 graduate of Goldsboro High School. After graduation, she attended Mrs. Crumpers Secretarial School and worked as a secretary for Signal Radio Supply before her marriage to Gerald E. Carr of Youngstown, Ohio. She was an active member of Evergreen Church in Peachtree City, GA............................

Captain Jerry Carr, past DGW President, passed away this morning.

Service will be Saturday JAN 6, 2018 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home in Peachtree City

Viewing at 12 noon.

Service at 1pm.
