Obituary for Edward Harris Tegge
Edward Tegge, 96, of Rogersville, departed this life on Thursday, October 4, 2018, with his loving wife Sylvia by his side.
Edward was born on December 22, 1921 in Camden, New Jersey to the late Bruce Tegge and Mary Harris Cheeseman. He was a member of Rogersville Presbyterian Church, and he was a retired Airline Pilot having worked for National and Pan Am Airlines. Edward was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy having served his country during World War II.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce Tegge and Carlton Tegge.
Those left to cherish Edward’s memory are his loving wife of 40 years, Sylvia Tegge; daughter, Rena Phillips (Dr. Hance); sons, Edward H. Tegge, Jr. (Sandra) and Ronald Dean Tegge (Maria); grandchildren, Wendy Gross (Danny), Jenny White (Tim), Karen Kreuzkamp (Doug), Heather Whitley (Alex) and Michelle Phillips.
The family will receive friends anytime at their residence.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the Rogersville Presbyterian Church, Rogersville, Tennessee with Rev. Rodney Norris officiating.
A Military Committal Service will follow and will be conducted by the Hawkins County Tennessee Post #21.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local Humane Society.
The care of Edward Harris Tegge and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
