March 6, 1938 ~ April 15, 2019
 
Notification with the passing of retired Delta pilot Captain John ‘Jack’ Campbell Pierce, age 81.  Captain Pierce joined Delta Air Lines 10-03-1966 and retired with Delta in 1997, based 030/ATL.  Widowed in September of 2010, he is survived by his children plus grand- and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held May 19th from 2:30-5:30 PM with a Memorial Service at 3 PM at Cherokee Veterans Park, 7345 Cumming Hwy., Canton, GA 30115....please see obituary information below.

Obituary.........
John "Jack" Campbell Pierce passed away peacefully at his home in Canton on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the age of 81.
 
Jack was born in Smyrna, Ga. on March 6, 1938 to the late James Leslie Pierce, Sr. and Mary Esther Pierce. He was widowed in 2010 with the passing of his beloved wife, Linda Underwood Pierce. He is also predeceased by his siblings, Jimmy Pierce, Richard Pierce, Jean Pierce, Bob Pierce, Cotton Pierce and Frank Pierce.
 
Jack is survived by his daughters, Vanessa Parker (Scott), Laura Adams (Joshua Clay); 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
 
Jack graduated High School from Campbell High School. He attended Georgia Tech and The Air Force Academy. He was hired by Delta Airlines October 3, 1966 and retired as Captain on the L-1011 on April 30, 1997. Before being hired by Delta he was a crop duster. When he retired from Delta he went to Florida and got his Seaplane License.
 
Jack's love of Music, Trains and Hiking started with his Boy Scouts Jamboree trip in 1953, when he was 15. He was a drummer in the band from the Cobb County Boy Scouts. They traveled by train from Atlanta to California, where they made frequent stops to enjoy and hike.
 
Jack with his family owned and rode horses for several years in Newnan, Ga. Jack and Linda moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains and raised miniature Australian Shepherds. Their last two, Pixie and Addy, were with him when he passed.
 
A gathering of Family and Friends will be held Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. at Cherokee Veterans Park, 7345 Cumming Hwy., Canton, GA 30115.

Linda Underwood Pierce  3/9/1944 - 9/6/2010

Linda Underwood Pierce, 66, died Monday, September 6, 2010 at her home in Newnan, GA. She was born in Calhoun, GA to the late D.F. Underwood & Mary Phipps Underwood. She was a member of Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church in Young Harris, GA. Mrs. Pierce worked as an Executive Secretary for The Coca-Cola Company and she was a Certified Appraiser and Real Estate Broker. She enjoyed riding horses, quilting and raising her Australian Shepherds. The funeral service is Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of McKoon Funeral Home...................
