Obituary:
June Elaine Criswell, 94 of Lakewood, Colorado passed away at her home on
August 24, 2013. June was born in Great Falls, Montana on January 3, 1919 to Ida
& Conrad Swanson.
June lost her mom when she was only 10 years old so her Dad & brother
Harold raised & protected her. From them, she learned to be strong &
independent. She adored them. June excelled in painting and sculpting, she had
exquisite penmanship & a beautiful singing voice & she was in many
musicals at Great Falls High School where she graduated.
June met Chuck Criswell II in Great Falls, fell in love and married in
1942. They honeymooned in Couer d' Alene, Idaho & returned to that spot
every year to celebrate their love. Later in 1942 their son, Chuck III was born.
June's husband was an airline pilot for Western Airlines. He was
transferred to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1945 where Janey was born. Later that year
Western transferred Chuck & June again to Denver. They found their home in
Lakewood where they lived full and happy lives.
In Lakewood, all the neighbors know Mom as Junie or June Bug or June. She
fit right into the friendly community where everyone knows each other and looks
out for one another. June was always happy, smiling & a friend to everyone.
She always saw the beauty in life and the good in people.
June will be missed and she will always be loved.
June is survived by her daughter Janey Lou Bonham (Micky) of Beulah,
Colorado.
