Archibald Donaldson "Arch" Kennedy, Jr., known as Don in his youth, was born on September 10, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Dr. Archibald Donaldson Kennedy and Louise Kennedy.

After graduating from Atherton High School, he attended Centre College, where he was a proud brother of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Initially setting his sights on medical school, life took him higher—soaring 10,000 feet above, as he began his distinguished journey in aviation.

A U.S. Navy pilot, he trained on the T-28 and landed on aircraft carriers in the S2F. Later, he joined Delta Air Lines, where for 35 years he flew both domestically and abroad, training countless pilots and becoming a beloved figure in the Delta community. His final Delta flight was on the L-1011 from Ireland to Atlanta in 1995.

He and his wife, Penny, a dedicated flight attendant, were married for 39 years and lovingly known as "Sky King and Penny." Penny preceded him in death in 2025.

Arch is survived by his daughters, Kimberley (Kent) Ellsbree, Kathleen (Joe) Ferguson, and son Arch Kennedy III, as well as his stepchildren Colonel Mike (Cathy) Butler and Michelle (Tim) Martin, three grandchildren, Reed (David) Lemasters, Joey and Ryan Ferguson, and great-grandson, John Lemasters.

He was a devoted member of Peachtree Road Methodist Church and an active participant in the Blazers. In his spare time, Arch worked with therapeutic horsemanship at Chastain Park, bringing joy to children and adults with disabilities.

Arch spent a career in the clouds and, as Mark Twain once said, "The air up there in the clouds is very pure and fine, bracing and delicious. And why shouldn't it be?—it is the same the angels breathe." And now he soars on that bracing wind, held close by Christ in the purest peace of heaven.

A celebration of Arch's life will be held on Thursday, June 25, at 4:00 p.m. at his cherished church home, Peachtree Road Methodist Church, with a reception following in Grace Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Arch's honor to Peachtree Road Methodist Church.

Arch's laughter, charming sense of humor, his sky-high dreams, and his boundless love for his family will forever lift our hearts.

Born in Sylacauga, Alabama, on April 2, 1942, Penny lived a life marked by service, creativity, and unwavering faith. James was a man whose life was defined by his unwavering devotion to God, his family, and the skies. Above all else, James was a faithful servant of the Lord. He lived out his deep Christian faith every day, serving as a dedicated deacon for the Presbyterian Church from 1981 through the present. His profound love for his wife, Ann, was the heartbeat of his home, and together they built a family rooted in love and shared adventures. James’s greatest joy in aviation was blending his love for family with his passion for the clouds, proudly instructing his entire family on how to fly.

His remarkable journey in the air began with seven years of honorable service as a U.S. Army aviator piloting fixed-wing aircraft, followed by a long and distinguished career with Delta Air Lines. His mastery of the skies was officially recognized by the FAA with the prestigious Master Pilot Award, and even after retiring from the commercial airlines, his adventurous spirit led him to the rugged terrain of Alaska to serve as a bush pilot.

Driven by his desire to invest in the next generation, James channeled his faith into action by founding two impactful youth ministries, "Teens Incorporated" and "Harvest Ministries." He was also highly regarded in his community, recognized as the Alumni of the Year at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. Beyond his accomplishments as a pilot and leader, James was a gifted artist who composed many songs throughout his life—most notably his single “Christmas Time,” which reached number one on the Billboard charts in the late 1970s. James will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, a faithful church leader, and a master pilot who taught those he loved how to soar both in this life and the next.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, James O. Cagle & Mamie Brock Cagle; and his one Sister, Joellen Landers. He was survived by his Wife of sixty-seven years, Ann Burris Cagle, of Columbia; three Sons, James O. Cagle, II (Angela), of Columbia, William H. Cagle (Jill), of Mountain Rest, South Carolina, Christopher V. Cagle (Valerie), of Sumrall; one Brother, William Cagle, of Daytona, Florida; ten Grandchildren, Olivia Cagle, of Long Creek, South Carolina, James Cagle, of Long Creek, South Carolina, Anne Marie Placereani (Dan), of Mountain Rest, South Carolina, Elizabeth Cagle, of Walhalla, South Carolina, Jacob Cagle, of Mountain Rest, South Carolina, Sarah Cagle, of Columbia, Benjamin Cagle (Gracie), of Walhalla, South Carolina, Jonathan Cagle, of Mountain Rest, South Carolina, Davis Cagle, of Sumrall, Daniel Cagle, of Sumrall; and five Great Grandchildren, Elijah Placereani, Emma Placereani, Josiah Placereani, Madi Cagle, David Alexander Cagle.

NWA Capt. Phillip Jacobson

~ IN MEMORY ~

Military veteran, NWA Capt. Phillip Jacobson

July 30, 1943 – March 25, 2026

Captain/Instructor Phillip “Phil” David Jacobson joined Northwest Airlines 05-22-1968.  Phil is survived by his wife Andrea, and by his children and their families.

Phil had most recently resided in North Richland Hills, TX 76182.

PCN memorial site

https://neptunesociety.com/obituaries/north-richland-hills-tx/phillip-jacobson-12806239

On July 30, 1943, the decibel limit of heaven was crossed for too many consecutive days, and the Lord sent the main offender, Phillip David Jacobson, to parents Phebe and Oliver Jacobson in Wadena, Minnesota. Phil was the fifth of six siblings (heaven’s other main volume offenders): Robert, Shirley, Sharon, Gwendolyn, and Margaret.

Phil graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in Fargo, North Dakota and proudly enlisted in the US Navy. He concluded 6 honorable years of military service and multiple tours in Vietnam as a Lieutenant flying the E1B. (Even though recognized as one of the greatest pilots in the Navy at the time, Phil was banned from jets due to numerous events involving “buzzing the tower” and other mischievous incidents).

Because he would neither leave the administration office nor attend college classes, Phil was “awarded” a two-year diploma from Lake Wobegon Adjacent Technical University in Minnesota for his military service and was subsequently hired as a commercial pilot. Phil enjoyed 37 years with Northwest Airlines as a captain and instructor on the 727, 737, 747, and the DC-10. During his time at Northwest, he was repeatedly recognized by the company for his witty and entertaining announcements to crew and passengers. Following “retirement” Phil invented and patented a shallow-well oil pump, started a contracting business, joined the house-flipping craze, and continued charitable service wherever a need was found.

While his favorite activities included flying, fishing, and carpentry, the greatest loves of Phil’s life were his relationships with God, with his loved ones, and with every single person he met. Phil was known for his exuberant spirit, joyous and happy presence, ceaseless humor, and ginormous lips that shamed Angelina Jolie’s. Throughout his life, Phil remained dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus Christ through his words, actions, and innumerable acts of service. Organizations Phil served and loved include Wycliffe Bible Translators, The Hills Church, Our Father’s Children, Fort Worth Christian School, Eastern European Mission, Bible Study Fellowship, Community Enrichment Center, Camp Peniel, and many mission trips throughout the world.

Despite insisting he could do more work for the Lord on Earth, Phil finally agreed to return to heaven with the temptation of repairing the pearly gates on March 25, 2026. If he is not trying to replace Peter as greeter to heaven, Phil is reunited in heaven with his parents, Phebe and Oliver, sister, Margaret, and friend of his heart Carolyn. He is survived by his loving and kind wife Andrea Jacobson; siblings Robert, Shirley, Sharon, and Gwen; children Phil Jr and wife Cindy, Dawn and husband Matt, Kim and husband Marco, Lindsey and husband Dave, Trevor and wife Rebekah, “bonus children” Jason and Jonathan and friend of his heart Linda. His grandchildren include Pheobe, Royce, Elisa, Alexis, Kaylyn, Antonio, Olivia, Nick, Jamie, Madison, Zoe, Josie, Jaben, Lauren, Emma, Chloe, Janelle, and great-granddaughter Remi. We deeply miss him and will continue to share his love and light to the world.

Phil’s Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel at The Hills Church (6300 NE Loop 820, North Richland Hills, TX 76180) on April 18, 2026, at 10:00am.

Obituary : Roger Martin

Florida funeral home notices and obituaries (FL) - Tuesday, June 2, 2026

Roger Martin, 86, passed away on May 26, 2026, in Boca Raton, Florida. He is survived by his beloved children: Terry and her husband Paul, Michelle, Frank and his wife Michele, and Tom and his wife Holly. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Danielle and her husband Nate, Nicole and her husband Ben, Michael, Nicholas, and Max, as well as his great-grandchildren, Remie, Noa, Emma, and Addie. Roger is survived by his siblings, Doris, Norman, and Joel. He was preceded in death by his forever wife, Carole; his dear brothers, Ronald and Rosaire; and his sister, Dolores. We take comfort in knowing they are all reunited in heaven.

Born on July 23, 1939, in Fort Kent, Maine, to his loving parents, Antonio and Leone Martin, Roger was a very active child who was raised alongside his family on a potato farm. He often recalled staring up at the sky, admiring airplanes passing overhead. Those moments sparked dreams of a different life.

He attended Notre Dame de la Sagesse in St. Agatha, followed by Assumption Prep in Worcester, Massachusetts, and later earned his bachelor's degree from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

He married his longtime admirer, Carole Page, in 1962 at Saint Louis Church in Fort Kent, Maine. They moved to Chicago, where Carole began teaching school and Roger pursued his master’s degree in political science, but Vietnam altered his course. He ended up fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming a pilot. He joined the Air Force and bravely served in Vietnam from 1965 to 1969 aboard a C-141 transporting, cargo and wounded soldiers. He later joined Delta Air Lines, where he eventually became a Captain flying L-1011s and retired in 1999.

In 1969, Roger and Carole settled in South Florida, where they built a warm and loving home to raise their children. In addition to working as a pilot, Roger has had a lifelong career as a successful commercial real estate broker, a profession he continued to pursue after retiring from Delta. Summers were spent at their cherished family camp in Eagle Lake, Maine, where Roger's children and grandchildren made lifelong memories alongside extended family. Today, the camp remains with the family for future generations to enjoy.

Roger was passionate about tennis - so passionate, in fact, that he built a court in his backyard in Miami. It became the epicenter of the Martin family, where countless nail-biting matches took place. A fierce competitor, Roger taught his children the importance of giving their best, sometimes accompanied by some passionate language. He moved to Boca Raton in 1991. When his knees could no longer keep up with the demands of the court, he turned his competitive spirit to biking. He rode 12 miles every day until his doctor and children convinced him it had become too dangerous. Even then, he somehow managed to sneak in a few more rides unbeknownst to all.

Roger's faith in Christ was the foundation of his life. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and a devoted member of Ascension Catholic Church in Boca Raton, Florida, where he also served as a lector and Eucharistic minister. Roger's legacy of love, passion, and faith will live on in the hearts of all those he touched.

Colonel William Howard “Sam” Snead, United States Air Force (Retired), passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026. A man of uncommon skill, warmth, adventure, and deep faith Sam lived a life defined by flight, fellowship, and a deep love of family. From the football fields of Virginia to the cockpits of supersonic fighter jets, he met every challenge with quiet confidence and a steady hand.
Born July 10, 1938, Sam grew up in Virginia and graduated from Covington High School in 1956. A gifted athlete, he earned a football and baseball scholarship to Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech), where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts Education — a foundation that served him well as both a craftsman and a teacher. It was at Virginia Tech that Sam also joined Air Force ROTC, beginning a journey that would carry him to the skies.
Following his commission, Sam went on active duty with the United States Air Force, where he distinguished himself as an Instructor Pilot at Craig Air Force Base in Selma, Alabama. His passion for flight and his gift for teaching were evident from the start, shaping young aviators with the precision, patience, and mentorship.
In 1965, Sam embarked on two parallel careers that would define the arc of his life. He joined Delta Air Lines and simultaneously became a member of the Alabama Air National Guard in Montgomery. Over the coming decades, Sam flew an impressive array of aircraft in Guard service — the T-33, RF-84, RF-4C, and F-4D — ultimately rising to become Squadron Commander of the 160th Tactical Fighter Squadron. He retired from the Guard in 1988 with decades of distinguished service to his name.
His airline career was equally remarkable. Sam flew for Delta Air Lines for over three decades, culminating in the role of International Captain on the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar. He retired from Delta in 1997, having carried passengers safely across continents and oceans — a fitting capstone to a lifetime aloft.
Retirement from the cockpit never dimmed Sam’s love of aviation. He remained active with the Civil Air Patrol and continued flying privately, keeping the sky close. An avid golfer, a faithful churchgoer, and a devoted family man, Sam embraced every chapter of his retirement with the same enthusiasm he brought to the cockpit. He cherished every chance to return to Virginia for family reunions and visits, holding fast to the roots and relationships that anchored him throughout his remarkable life.

Family
Colonel Snead was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Wilson Snead and Frenchie Wood Snead.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Anne Snead; his brother, Ronald Wilson Snead; his devoted children, Dorothy Snead McCullough (Alton), William Howard Snead, Jr. (Susan), Byron Kevin Mills, and Kristi Mills Jeffers (Tommy); his cherished grandchildren, Adam Mitcham (Anna) and Susan Renee Rollins, Thomas Blake Jeffers, Samuel Harris Jeffers, and Katherine Mae Jeffers; and his great-grandchildren, Jordan Mitcham, Parker Mitcham, and Dakota Delane Rollins.

A Legacy Remembered
Colonel William H. “Sam” Snead will be remembered as a patriot, a pilot, and a gentleman of uncommon grace. From his days as a standout football player at Virginia Tech to his final flights across the Atlantic, Sam embodied dedication, service, and a boundless love of life. His laughter, his stories of the skies, and his unwavering devotion to family and friends leave an enduring legacy in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.

Major Jim L. Gregoire, aka “Gargoyle,” United States Air Force, 66, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on June 2, 2026.

Jim was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and spent most of his childhood in Whitefish, Montana. In his early years, Jim was an avid water- and snow-skier and a lover of music. He played keyboard in his high school band, Rosewood, and graduated from Whitefish High School in 1978.

Jim served 20 years in the military. He began in the United States Army as a Specialist 5 and was later promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 2, earning his Army Aviator Badge, Expert Qualification Badge with M-16 Rifle, Expert Grenade Badge, and OH-58 rating. After five years of service in the Army, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where his career culminated in the rank of Major, flying F-16s. During those years, Jim proudly earned his Flight Safety Officer Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Ribbon, multiple Commendation Medals, and Short- and Long-Term Service Ribbons. He was deployed during Desert Storm, as well as to Cairo, Egypt, and Ramstein, Germany. Later, Jim was transferred to Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, where he earned his Safety Fighter Pilot Certification for F-16s.

After retiring from the military, Jim went on to pursue a career as a commercial airline pilot. He began with Northwest Airlines in 1999 and retired from Delta Air Lines in 2025. Jim excelled in his career, but above all else, he was a devoted husband and father. He spent every minute of his free time supporting his children, whether coaching soccer teams, volunteering for the high school band, or attending every one of his son’s football games. He was a proud Gator dad who took every opportunity to wear orange and blue. Jim was a fan of noise, with a disdain for silence—he could not go five minutes without playing music. He was a jack of all trades, lovingly referred to as “Mr. Fix It,” regardless of the success of the project. Jim lived to entertain, bringing joy and laughter to every aspect of his life.

After his retirement, and between naps in his recliner, Jim traveled the world as a tourist, his love of flying always in his blood.

Jim is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children, Nickolas, Kara, and Anslee; his parents, Phillip and Linda; his sister, Cindy; his children by marriage, Andrea, Lisa (Andrew), and Nathan (Anastasia).

May Jim’s memory always be a blessing.
