Lt. Colonel Rodriguez is survived by his wife Emily and four children, Elena Maria, Evelyn Carole, Nicolas Julio, and Elyse Suzanne. He is also survived by his father, Julio Ernesto Rodriguez, and his three siblings, Antonio Rodriguez, Sara Edwards, and Ana Yakovleff.

Obituary : Julio Eduardo Rodriguez

Julio Eduardo Rodriguez was born on July 31, 1976, in Pasadena, California, to Julio Ernesto and Suzanne Carter Rodriguez. He passed away on January 29, 2024, age 47, in Heber City, Utah, after a 14-month battle with cancer.

 

Julio had a passion for greatness and excelled at everything he did. Growing up in Provo Canyon, Utah, he always loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time mountain biking and skiing. His father, Julio Sr., instilled in him a love for soccer and running. Julio played soccer and ran cross country at Wasatch High School. From a young age, Julio was musically talented. He loved playing the piano fast and loud! He also played the saxophone in his high school band and competed in many jazz band festivals. He always did well in school and was the Senior Class President for the Wasatch High School graduating class of 1994. He received an appointment to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, graduating in May 2000. He took a 2-year leave (1996-1998) from the Academy to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Wellington, New Zealand mission.

 

On June 9, 2000, Julio was sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple to the love of his life, the farmer’s daughter, Emily Carole Holmes. Julio, Emily, and their children have lived in Polcenigo, Italy; Del Rio, Texas; Valdosta, Georgia; Dayton, Ohio; Pleasant View, Utah; Monterey, California; Leavenworth, Kansas; Phoenix, Arizona; Gunsan, South Korea; and North Pole, Alaska throughout his Air Force career. Julio was also deployed to Iraq (twice), Guam, Australia, Hawaii, and other locations to serve his country. Julio loved his fighter pilot brothers and the people he met and served in the military.

 

Julio was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various church callings throughout his life. He especially loved working with the youth and was an inspiration to all those he met. Julio’s greatest accomplishment in life was being a loving husband and father. He had great examples of this from his youth, with his fun-loving father and angelic mother, who loved their kids and each other very much. Julio loved spending time with Emily, whether it be traveling, hiking, running, or accompanying her as she sang.

 

Lt Colonel Rodriguez retired from the Air Force in 2020 after a successful 20-year career as an F-16 pilot. During his career he also received two Master’s degrees, learned Korean, and completed many certifications, upgrades, and promotions. After retirement he and his family moved back home to Heber where he bought a dairy farm and started a career as a commercial pilot with Delta Airlines. He always loved a new challenge. Learning to fly big airplanes, running a small business, driving big tractors and trailers, interacting with the Cedar View Dairy family, and chasing cows made him happy!

 

He is survived by his wife Emily and four children, Elena Maria, Evelyn Carole, Nicolas Julio, and Elyse Suzanne. He is also survived by his father, Julio Ernesto Rodriguez, and his three siblings, Antonio Rodriguez, Sara Edwards, and Ana Yakovleff, and his father-in-law, George P. Holmes.

 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Suzanne Carter Rodriguez, his grandparents, Ned Charles and Melba Edwards Carter, and Victor Salvador and Maria Teresa Rodriguez. He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Patsy Hilton Holmes.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held in Julio’s honor on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m., and the Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:18 a.m. Both events will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel at 6250 E 1200 S, Heber City, Utah, 84032. All are invited to both events. The Celebration of Life will be more casual with people meeting to chat, reconnect, and tell stories. The Funeral will be of a more spiritual nature.

 

Interment will be at the Heber City Cemetery, 680 N 550 E, following the Funeral Service.

From the RNPA/retired Northwest pilots group comes news with the passing of Captain Robert Sverre Jondahl, age 100.  Captain Jondahl joined Northwest Airlines 07-05-1949.  Widowed in 2013 with the passing of his wife Betty, Bob is survived by two of their daughters, and by the families of their daughters.

Robert Sverre Jondahl, age 100 passed away Jan. 11, 2024. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years Betty, daughter Joyce Richards and brother Leonard Jondahl. Survived by son-in-law Edward Richards; daughters, Kristine Toso (Milton) and Susan Wanner (Tom); grandsons, Erik (Suzannah) Toso & John (Sally) Toso; great grandchildren, Kenley, Niko and Rory Toso. Bob was born in Glasgow, Montana to Norwegian immigrants Sverre and Tomine Jondahl. He began his lifelong passion for flying by earning his pilot's license at age 16. After graduating from high school, he attended aviation college and worked part time for local flying services. During WWII he served in the Army Aircorps as a flight instructor stationed in Lancaster, CA. After the war Bob started his own flying service doing charter work and selling aircraft. On an aircraft search in Minneapolis, his good friends introduced him to the love of his life, Betty McNeil. Shortly thereafter he joined Northwest Airlines and retired as a 747 Captain and instructor after 34 years of service. For many years he spent much of his spare time restoring Cessna airplanes. Betty M Jondahl, 91

Jondahl, Betty M., Passed away peacefully on September 21, 2013 surrounded by family in her home of nearly 50 years. Beloved wife of Robert for 66 years, beloved mother of Joyce (Ed) Richards, Kriss (Milton) Toso, and Susan (Tom) Wanner. Also survived by grandsons Erik (Suzannah) Toso, John Toso, great- granddaughter Kenley Toso; sister Mildred Scharfe, and several nieces, nephews and families. Preceded in death by parents, and sisters Marion Williamson and Jean Hovee. Betty Margaret McNeil was born on February 13, 1922, in Boulder, Montana. The family later moved to Havre, MT where she grew up. After completing some college work, she held various secretarial positions until going to work for the FBI during the war. In 1947, she married Robert Jondahl, and began life in Minneapolis as a NWA pilot's wife and mother to her three daughters born there……………………..

Bruce OLSON Obituary

OLSON, Bruce R. 82, of St. Pete Beach, FL, passed away peacefully, January 24, 2024. He was born to Robert and Eve (Johnson) in Minneapolis, MN.

Bruce attended Gustavus Adolphus College and had a 30 plus year career as a pilot for Northwest Airlines where he was proud to be an early Captain of the Boeing 757. He loved watching sports, especially football, hockey and golf. His day wasn't complete until he finished the crossword from the paper. Bruce enjoyed taking care of the neighbors' condos and cars when they were away to make sure they were ready for them when they returned.

Bruce is survived by two sons, Chris (Karin) of Minneapolis, MN and Matt of Hilo, HI; two granddaughters, Annika and Greta; two brothers, Willy and Larry; and former wife, Karyl. He is preceded in death by wife, Gayle; sister, Kathy; and granddaughter Amanda.

A celebration of life will be held at HarbourSide clubhouse on Friday, April 12, 5-8 pm. There will be a livestream of the ceremony. Please RSVP to Chris: chris.r.olson@gmail.com.

Creekmore’s Obituary

F. Larry & Julie Ann Creekmore, 83 & 80

 Floyd Larry Creekmore (Larry) passed away December 27, 2023, in Kalispell at the age of 83. Julie Ann, his loving wife and soul mate of 57 years, passed away at the age of 80, less than four months later, on April 15th at their home on Echo Lake.

 

In 2019, Larry underwent surgery in Kalispell for a neuroendocrine tumor located in his small intestine. Sadly, the initial surgery involved numerous complications which required many subsequent surgeries leaving him in an ICU stay for 8 weeks, plus an additional four weeks at the Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital before finally returning home. For the next four and half years, he battled the resulting complications of his many surgeries. He was a true fighter until the end.

 

Julie Ann was a tremendous caregiver and took wonderful care of Larry during those four and half years. She was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer) a month after Larry's passing and was gone less than three months later. Larry and Julie Ann were amazing people who touched so many lives of those who knew them. They will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

 

Larry was born on October 5, 1940, to Floyd and Betty Creekmore in Havre. After graduating from Stanford High School in 1959, he attended Montana State University for a year and then transferred to the University of Montana to pursue a degree in Forestry. He spent 5 years in the Navy serving three tours in Vietnam. After the Navy, Larry became a commercial pilot and spent his entire career with Northwest Airlines.

 

Julie Ann was born in Great Falls on August 29, 1943, to Paul and Shirley Hammer. She graduated from Stanford High School in 1961 and initially attended the University of Montana. She then transferred to Montana State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. Julie Ann taught in Belgrade, Geyser, Oak Harbor, WA, and Bozeman, but her true calling was being a mom and wife.

 

In 1979 Larry and Julie Ann moved to Bozeman. Getting close to retirement, and having raised their three children, they sold their place and moved to Bigfork, and built their dream home on Echo Lake in 1994. Together, Larry and Julie Ann enjoyed traveling to various destinations in their motorhome, but more than anything else they deeply loved spending time on the lake. Their lake home was a special place, a true gathering and vacation spot for their children, grandchildren, friends, and relatives.

 

Larry and Julie Ann are survived by son Stephen and wife Shannon of Phoenix, AZ, son Scott and wife Megan of Kalispell, daughter Siri and husband Jeff of Redmond, WA; six grandchildren, Paul, Cade, Morgan, Alayna, Aniston, and Audrina, Julie Ann's sister Sue of Bozeman, and Larry's brother Dave of Post Falls, ID, and many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and sister Cheryl. Julie Ann was preceded in death by her parents.

 

A joint Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 1 pm at Crossroads Christian Fellowship in Bigfork, MT.

Floyd "Creeky" Creekmore, the world’s oldest performing clown, has died at the age of 98.

Mr Creekmore passed away on Saturday night in his home following complications from heart disease, his son Dave said.

After retiring from ranching and building homes in the 1980s, he joined the Al Bedoo Shrine Clown as Creeky, a group who regularly held circus performances to raise money for local hospitals…………………………

Robert Harry "Bob" Johnson, 78, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Jill Berry Johnson entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 28, 2024. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at the chapel following the service.

 

Robert was born November 7, 1945 in Nuremberg, Germany, son of the late Edwin Claude Johnson and the late Margerete Gropp Johnson. He was naturalized in 1954 and became a US citizen. He traveled with his family living in Japan, Korea, Germany, Texas, California, New Jersey, North Carolina, Indiana, and finally South Carolina. He was a track star at Brookland-Cayce High School class of 1964, home of the Bearcats. Attending the University of South Carolina class of 1968, he graduated with a degree in history and a commission into the US Air Force as well as a new sports team, Go Gamecocks! Robert completed USAF pilot training at Laredo Air Force Base, Texas. Robert was awarded an assignment to Norton AFB, CA flying the C-141A model. Hours were built quickly flying the pacific routes to Vietnam for four years. After Vietnam, Robert served as a TALO in Korea at Camp Red Cloud. Robert completed maintenance school and was assigned to CAFB (Charleston Air Force Base), SC taking care of 54 to 58 C-141’s. Returning to a flying assignment Robert requalified in the C-141A/B. Advancing quickly, Robert became an Evaluator pilot qualified as a Lead Airdrop, SOLL II, PNAF, and Berlin Corridor Certifier. Robert also completed the AF safety investigator school and completed two class A C-141 mishap investigations. Robert was the chief pilot and assistant operations officer for the 20th MAS. Finishing his career as a 437th MAW evaluator pilot. Robert then started an airline career with Northwest Airlines flying the 727, which later became Delta Airlines. Robert married his wife Jill on December 31, 1992 and became the father of two daughters Pam and Brianna. In 1995 Robert started with the C-17 ATS program where he shared his passion for aeronautics as an instructor for generations of families. Surviving several contract changes Robert maintained his position with the C-17 ATS program. He was an airland/airdrop IP under Boeing, he was their check airman. Robert had a distinguished career as a pilot and retired as a Major in the US Air Force.

 

He was a decorated Veteran with the following medals and achievements: Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, AF Commendation Medal with three devices, Small Arms Expert Pistol, Armed Force Expeditionary with One Device, Combat Readiness Medal, AF Longevity Service Ribbon with Four Devices, National Defense Service Medal, AF Overseas Service Short Tour Ribbon with One Device, AF Training Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal with Seven Devices, AF Outstanding Unit Award with Three Devices, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Device, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was involved in his community, enjoying membership in the Charleston Rifle Club, Military Officers Association of America, the Isle of Palms VFW, and he was known to be a bowling champion as a member of the SCUSBC. Robert was a sports car and motorcycle enthusiast and delighted in annual cruises. He will be remembered most for the way he loved his family and animals.

 

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jill Johnson of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Pamela Susanne Todd (Logan) and Brianna Lauren Cogliano (Daniel); sister, Saundra Lee Drafts; nephew, Michael George Drafts; nieces, Christy Drafts Fry (Tony), Karen Goff Daniels, Dawn Goff Ford; great nephews, Jimmy Daniels, John Michael Browder, Levi Ford, Coy Ford, Austin Drafts; great nieces, Christina Daniels, Jaime Leah Busby, Megan Drafts Borren, Cherokee Drafts; great great niece, Ava Grace Croson; grandchildren, Taylor James Breaux, Jasmine Lynn Howard, Dylan Pryce Joseph Todd, Katelynn Nichole Todd and Aidan Asher Cogliano; great grandchildren, Teaghan Caroline McConnell, Wyatt Wayne Breaux; and his dog Sir Clarence Cousteau Johnson.
