LeRoy M. “Steve” Stevens, Jr. age 68 years of Middleboro, MA died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 after a short illness.  He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Scully) Stevens.
 
Born Friday, April 14, 1944 in Taunton, MA he was the son of the late Leroy M. Stevens, Sr. and Ora F. (King) Stevens.
 
Steve was a 1963 graduate of Taunton High School and had lived in Middleboro for the past 23 years.  He retired after 36 years of service as a Captain Pilot for Delta Airlines.  He was a member of AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), ALPA (Air Line Pilots Association), the Quiet Bird Men and the Mitchell Memorial Club in Middleboro.  He enjoyed flying and golfing but most of all spending time with his family at home and spending time with his friends at Kings Field Airport in East Taunton.
 
In addition to his wife Maureen he is survived by 2 children Scott Stevens and his wife Deana of Lakeville and Kelly Blake and her husband Christopher of Lakeville: 4 step-children Melissa Lucas and her husband Mark of IN, Wes French of Plymouth, Corey French of Plymouth and Craig French of Plymouth; Papa to 9 grandchildren Jarod Stevens, Aidan Blake, Brett Stevens, Amelia Blake, Grace Stevens, Devon Lucas, Boston Lucas, Elliott Lucas and Vaughn Lucas; a brother Don Stevens of E. Taunton and 2 sisters Linda (Stevens) Michaud of E. Taunton and Jody Stevens of Lakeville.
 
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Holy Family Parish Church in East Taunton.
 
Memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 4-8 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA.
