Belated notification with the passing of DL Captain Robert C.
McElveen, age 76. Captain McElveen joined Delta Air Lines 01-03-1967 and
retired at the mandatory age 60 in 1997. He was based MIA, FLL and
ATL. At the time of his retirement he was based ATL/030. The online

ROBERT CHANDLER MCELVEEN: Newspaper Obituary
McELVEEN, Robert Chandler, 76, of Margate, FL, passed away on Friday,
October 18, 2013. Robert was born in Sumter, SC on February 14, 1937 to Wesley
& Edna McElveen. He proudly served his Country in the US Air Force and was a
pilot with Delta Airlines for 30 years. Robert was an avid golfer and a member
of the Oriole Golf Course. He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian; children,
Rob (Toni) McElveen, Dave McElveen, Robert (Cathy) Coghlan, Joyce Dale and
Melissa (John) Hornberger; 12 grandchildren; and brothers, Russell McElveen,
Emery McElveen and Gobe McElveen. The family will receive friends on Monday from
2-4 & 6-8pm at the funeral home. The service celebrating Robert's life will
be held on Tuesday, 10am, also at the funeral home. Interment with Military
Honors will follow in South Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Broward County Foundation, www.hospiceofbrowardcounty.org
