Belated news has been received with the passing of NAL/PAA/DL retired pilot Captain Patrick Vautrin McCallum, age 76.  Captain McCallum joined National Airlines 09-11-1967, made the mergers with Pan Am and Delta, and retired with Delta Air Lines in 1997, based 030/ATL.  Online condolences may be sent on the funeral home website at  http://tmralph.net/  or http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/sunsentinel/obituary.aspx?pid=169808913 


Funeral Services were held on February 25th in Florida.  Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.  Survived by his wife Sandra ‘Sandy’, personal condolences may be sent to their family at

Patrick Vautrin McCallum, 76, of Plantation, FL passed away Friday,

2/21/14. He was born in New Orleans, LA and raised in the Galveston/La

Marque, TX area. After graduating from Texas A&M University, he joined

the Air Force for eight years and was a fighter pilot in the Vietnam

War. Among his many accommodations was the coveted Silver Star for

bravery. He went on to be a commercial airline pilot for over 32 years

while also operating a successful fire equipment business with his

wife for 44 years. Pat was an avid fisherman and was known for his

straightforward attitude, sense of humor, caring heart and generosity.

He will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched over the

years. Pat is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy; children Chrystalyn

(Alfred) Thibodeau, Bryan (Maria) McCallum, Michele (Brooke) Hoover

and Sean McCallum; grandchildren Justin, Ashley, Noelle and Patrick;

great-grandchildren Jake, Justin, Gracie, Lorelai and Adalyn; nieces

and nephews Stephanie, Stephen, Richard, Theresa and Cindy; and his

loyal companion, Rusty. A service celebrating Pat's life will be held

Tuesday, 2/25/14 from 4-8pm, at TM Ralph Funeral home, 7001 NW 4th St,

Plantation, FL 33317; (954) 587-6888; Visitation will begin at 4pm

until the Prayer Service and Celebration of Life at 6:45pm. The burial

will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
