___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

The thought struck me that for folks who haven't been there before, finding the Condor Squadron might be a challenge.
Hayvenhurst Avenue peters out when it intersects Saticoy if you are approaching from the south.  Thus, you have to turn right on Saticoy for about a block until you find Hayvenhurst again, after which Hayvenhurst now looks more like an alley than a street.  If coming from the north, the best way is to get onto Saticoy from the west side of Van Nuys Airport and then take Saticoy east until it dead-ends at  Hayvenhurst.  Once having found Hayvenhurst, it ain't over yet!  I don't recall ever seeing a street number for the Condor Squadron.  So the best way to find it is to proceed stealthily north on Hayvenhurst for a couple of hundred yards until you see a bunch of North American AT-6 aircraft parked inside the fence to your right.  Hopefully, the gate will be unlocked and you should have no more trouble.  Good hunting!

.............. just heard that Capt. "blue" Thrailkill passed away last Sunday. He wanted no services but the Condor squadron at Van Nuys and the QB's want to do something, probably in July. Would you please pass on the word to the Western community.
Thanks,
