WA/DL Capt. J. Jess Huerta
December 9, 1927 ~ December 23, 2016

             

We have received word with the passing of Delta Golden Wings member retired Western/Delta pilot Captain J. Jess Huerta, age 89.  Captain Huerta joined Western Airlines 05-02-1955 and retired with Delta Air Lines in December 1987 as Captain flying the DC-10s, based LAX. 
Arrangements are not yet known. 
For those wishing to send condolences to the family, and to the best of my knowledge that address is 
8515 Costa Verde Blvd Unit 1506 , San Diego CA 92122-1146.
When we hear more as to arrangements we will be sure to pass that information along to you.

Dear Jess passed away at 6:43p.m. today after fighting dementia for the past
5 years.  As you can imagine I'll be busy for the next several days.  Will

    l loved jess he was a very dear friend of mine he was like a father to me I truly will miss him god bless you sir always loved Dene A Nuhaily

    Hello Julie, It is your old friend and neighbors Jim and Laura Peters. I was doing some research in hopes to track down you and Jess and came upon the news of his passing almost 3 years ago. I am so sorry for your loss, we loved Jess so much. He was without a doubt one of the kindest people I have ever met. He loved you to the moon and I am sure he is making others smile everyday in Heaven. Please do reach out to me if youd like us to bring you up to speed on our family!
