Subject: Final flight West for PNA/WAL/DAL Capt. R. Taft
Weaver
I spoke with Rebecca Weaver today, my long and close friend, Capt. Taft

I just found out that Taft passed away and I wanted to extend my condolences to the Weaver family. I flew with Taft on the 727 out of LAX and he was always a joy to fly with. I especially loved his "bird deflection hat," that black leather hat bejeweled with colored beads that he swore would fend off any birdstrikes. It definitley worked whenever I flew with him! It had been ages since we last chatted and I regret not keeping in better touch with him. He was a great pilot and a better man. May he rest in peace. Regards, Capt. Kevin M. Mac Donnell
ReplyDeleteA shining star who loved his family, life and flight. May Godspeed, my friend. I'll never forget you.
