WWII veteran, NWA Capt. Claire A. Davis
March 22, 1924 ~ November 5, 2017
The family of RNPA member retired Northwest pilot Captain
Claire Davis have written us with news of his passing. Captain Davis joined
Northwest Airlines 04-07-1953 and retired in 1984. Widowed in June of 2012 with
the passing of his wife Betty, Captain Davis is survived by his children, grand
and great grandchildren. He most recently had resided at 2925 Lincoln Drive,
#516, Roseville, MN 55113.

Services for Captain Davis will be held Friday, November 10th
at the LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE REDEEMER, St. Paul MN. Visitation from 4-8 PM the
evening prior at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME of ROSEVILLE MN, and at the church on
Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.

Claire A. Davis
Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great and Great-Great
Grandfather
Died peacefully November 5, 2017, at the age of
93.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific
Arena on the S.S. Stafford. After the war, he became a pilot of a variety of
aircraft for Northwest Airlines, retiring as captain of the 747, flying
internationally to Asia and Europe.
He is preceded in death by Betty, his wife of almost 66 years;
parents, brother, three sisters, and granddaughter, Andrea Favilla.
He is survived by children Dennis (Chris), Michelle Favilla,
and Tamra Cownie, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great
grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 AM Friday,
November 10 at the LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE REDEEMER, 285 N. Dale Street, St.
Paul. Interment Evergreen Memorial Garden. Visitation 4-8 PM Thursday at
MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. @ Co. Rd B., and at the
church on Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.
We are celebrating 93 years of this kind-hearted, generous,
supportive, funny, gentle man. Please dress in bright colors to share our joy in
having been a part of his life.
Memorials preferred to the Lutheran Church of the
Redeemer.

Davis, Betty J., Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandma Great-Grandma.
Died peacefully on June 3, 2012, at the age of 86, surrounded by her family. She
is survived by Claire "Dave", her beloved husband of almost 66 years; children,
Dennis (Chris) Davis, Michelle Favilla and Tamra Cownie; siblings, Maxine
Pierre, Lorraine Swonger and William Peterson; 9 grandchildren; 9
great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service 10:30 AM
