Word has been received of the passing of U.S. Air Force veteran and retired NWA pilot Captain Philip S. Seyd, age 72.

Age 72, of Minneapolis. Died at home Friday, June 1, 2012. Survived by his devoted and loving wife, Laura Folden, sister, Veronica Seyd of Union Springs, New York, sister-in-law, Judy Folden, niece, Lori, nephews, Jim, Jeff, and Jerry. Born in London, England, on November 25, 1939 to Ramon and Nancy Seyd. Arrived in New York, February 1946. Graduated from East Chester High School 1957. Member of U.S. Air Force Intelligence, 1959-1962. Graduated from the University of Denver, Colorado, 1965. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Boeing Engineer, 1965-1966. Captain of Boeing 727 & 747 from 1966-1992. Retired from Northwest Airlines after 25 years of service. 50 Year member of APOA. Phil leaves behind many friends and relatives who loved him for his kindness, thoughtfulness, gentle manners, and generosity. Full of intellectual curiosity, Phil never met a problem he did not want to explore and solve. Whether by sea, by land or by air, Phil happily shared his travel experiences and tips. He was the perfect host. The family wishes to thank, all of Phil's caregivers at Allina Hospice, and AgeWell Home Care, for their compassion, thoughtfulness, and great kindness. At his request no funeral. Celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Memorial's to donor's choice.
