DL Captain & DGW member, Capt. C. R. ‘Bob’ Dodaro
August 15, 1933 ~ December 3, 2012
Word has been received of the passing of retired DL pilot and
Delta Golden Wings member Captain C. R. ‘Bob’ Dodaro. Born/raised I believe in
the Chicago area, Carmen Robert Dodaro was 79 years of age at the time of his
passing due to complications with colon cancer. Captain Dodaro hired on with
Delta 07-25-1960 and retired at the mandatory age 60 in 1993. Captain Dodaro was
based ORD, later and at the time of his retirement he was based ATL. He is
survived by his wife of 31 years Barbara ‘Barbie’ Campbell Dodaro. The funeral
home does not yet have Captain Dodaro’s obituary posted, but I called them and
the information should be posted soon. Arrangements have been entrusted to Moss

There will be a wake at Moss Feaster funeral home

Thursday evening, December 6th, from 5:30-7:30 PM. Funeral services will be
held Friday morning, December 7th, at St. Brendan Church www.stbrendancatholic.org/ , located at 245
Dory Passage in Clearwater FL at 11:00 AM. For those wishing to make a donation
in Bob’s name...may we suggest Bob’s favorite charity Best Friends Animal
Society.

DODARO, Carmen "Bob" 79, passed gently into Gods loving arms Dec. 2, 2012,
finalizing the last chapter of a wonderful love story of 37 years with his
partner, wife, and best friend, Barbara Campbell Dodaro. Bob surrounded by his
loved ones, passed away peacefully at home, under the care of Hospice, after a
long, strong battle with colon cancer. He was blessed with a loving and faithful
daughter, Monique Dodaro Butterfield and her husband, John Butterfield whom he
thought of as his son, of Crystal Lake, IL. He took great pride in his adoring
grandchildren, Kate Allen (Rob), Meghan, Amy and Gretchen Butterfield, all of
Crystal Lake, IL, Danielle Dodaro of Baltimore, MD; his two special nieces,
Ashlee and Casey Campbell of Ocean Springs, MS.; brother-in-law, Steve Campbell
of Ocean Springs, MS and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Earlene and Leon
Campbell of Jackson, MS. He leaves behind many wonderful friends, caring
neighbors, and the special love of his two golden retrievers, Rover and Buffy.
Bob was an only child born in 1933 in Rockford, IL and predeceased by his
parents, Peter and Vera Dodaro of Rockford, IL. He graduated from Northern
University and was especially proud to be a member of the United States Marine
Corp. and lived by the motto Siemper Fi. He loved his job of 33 years as an
airline pilot for Delta Airlines from 1960 to 1993 when he retired and pursued
his love of the water, sailing and fishing, motorcycling, golfing and traveling.
He is a member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church, St. Brendan's Navigators,
Island Estates Men's Stag Luncheon Club, VFW, American Italian Club and the
Airline Pilots Association for many years. Bob is also survived by many friends
and family members. Wake will be held Dec. 6, from 5:30-7:30 pm at Moss Feaster
Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater, and funeral services will be held
at 11 am, Friday Dec. 7 at St. Brendan's Church on Island Estates in Clearwater.
Contributions can be made in his name to Suncoast Hospice. Moss Feaster Funeral
