___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Virgil Lee Ball was born in Henryetta, OK. He was a retired commercial airline pilot for Western Airlines. After retirement he drove a school bus for Incline Village, NV for 11 years. Virgil was a cherished and loving husband of his wife Jimmie, and a beloved father to daughter Kathy, and to his son Michael, he was preceded in death by his sister Carol Jean. He was an adored brother to Barbara Warren and William. Virgil has four treasured grandchildren, many nieces and nephews as well as Roscoe who was his constant companion, as well as his many, many friends who will miss him dearly and his always wonderful humor.
Virgil asked that we let everyone know that “He loved you!” There will be a celebration of Virgil’’s life on March 22, 2014 at the Minden/Tahoe Airport, The Blue Hangar, at 1:00pm-4:00pm.
