Capt. Jack Fraser Hamlin
May 3, 1938 ~ April 1, 2014
Jack attended Auburn High School
Washington State University and the University of Washington. After graduation from the UW, Jack was employed by Northwest Airlines as a line pilot, flight instructor and Director of Flying/Chief Pilot. He was also active with the Airline Pilots Association as a pilot labor contract negotiator and part of the critical incident response team. Jack retired after 32 years with NW Airlines. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the home he built at Lake Cushman and was very active in the community there. Jack was the consummate erudite; his wit and wisdom will be missed.
Jack is survived by former wife Merrie, daughters Tracie & Paige, brother Donald and loving companion Lynn Waplington.

Word has been received with the passing of retired NWA pilot
Captain Jack Fraser Hamlin, age 75. Captain Hamlin joined Northwest Airlines
10-10-1966 and retired at the mandatory age 60 in 1998. Jack held the position
of Chief Pilot with Northwest based MSP, was former ALPA Council 54 MEC
Chairman, and he continued ALPA safety work after his retirement.
Captain Hamlin had resided at
11315 Ohde Circle, Kirkland WA 98033-6394 and I believe most
recently at
100 N. Clallam Place, Hoodsport WA 98548-9548. He is
survived by his wife Merrie (425) 898-9466.
To the best of our knowledge, no services are
planned.

I am saddened to inform our
ranks that NWA pilot Jack F. Hamlin passed away on April 01, 2014 after a
prolonged illness. Jack resided in Kirkland, Washington. He was the former
ALPA Council 54 MEC Chairman, NWA MSP Chief Pilot, and continued ALPA safety
work after NWA retirement. Jack was hired by NWA in October of 1966 and Retired
in May of 1998. At this time there are no services planned.

I just received
a call informing me that retired NWA pilot Jack F. Hamlin passed away on April
01, 2014. This was confirmed by another pilot speaking to Jack’s wife, but not
me. The obituary is expected in the Sunday Seattle Times I will forward it to
you.
