Navy veteran, PAA/DL Capt. Robert J. Durant
July 7, 1938 ~ May 21, 2014
Word has been received with the passing of PAA/DL Captain Robert Joseph
Durant, age 75. Captain Durant joined Pan American Airways 05-08-1967 and
retired with Delta Air Lines in 1998, based New York QNY/030. Captain Durant
had many interests among them radio operator Call Sign KC2FXH, writer, actor,
UFO researcher (*Roswell? YES! ) ... just to name a few.

Obituary...........................
Robert
Joseph Durant was born on July 7, 1938, in Akron, OH, to Ronald Joseph and Mary
Linnane Durant. He passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2014, following a
2-1/2 year struggle from the effect of a stroke.
He
was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. He is survived by his wife,
Mauricette; son Stefan R. Durant, and daughter Jennifer L. Mohr, wife of R.
Colin Mohr, and granddaughters, Lilian Durant Mohr and Marin Mohr.
He is
also survived by a sister, Mary Dianne Durant, and a brother, James Michael
Durant, and his nephews, Christopher and Jeremy Durant.
Bob
graduated from the Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland, OH, in 1960 with a
degree in electrical engineering. Upon graduation, he entered the US Navy as a
naval aviation cadet and following flight training was commissioned a
lieutenant, flying Sikorsky helicopters in various international locations.
Upon
discharge, he joined Pan American Airways in 1967 as a pilot, rising to the rank
of captain. Bob continued flying internationally with Delta Airlines, retiring
in 1998.
Bob
was a man of many interests. He was a licensed ham radio operator proficient in
Morse code. He enjoyed writing and was actively involved in UFO /Remove Viewing
studies.
A
loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be sorely missed.
Per
his wishes, no religious services will be held but a visitation with be
conducted at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington, NJ
08534 on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m.
In
lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Planned Parenthood Association of
the Mercer County Area, 437 East State St., Trenton, NJ 08608 or Mercer Street
Friends, 151 Mercer St., Trenton, NJ 08611.

I am sad to inform you that Bob passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday
May 21 th. There will be a time for family and friends visitation on Wednesday
May 28 th. at Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington, NJ
08434, between the hours of 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
There will be no formal service and in lieu of flowers we suggest a

Uncle Bob you are awesome. My Father John Durant used to tell me about you and you were one of his biggest inspirations in life....his best friend. I remember listening to you when I was a kid and thinking how cool you were even though I had not even 2 percent of a clue about life compared to today January 12th 2023 more than 20 years later. I am blessed to some how related to you.... Say hello to my brother Thomas and Dad.... you probably are chilling with the greys now lol.... Love you uncle Bob See you one day.... hopefully not toooo soon......
