Obituary

Richard Alan “Al” Parry, 73, of
Quakertown, died Wed. June 24th at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia.
He was the husband of Nancy (Bowdler) Parry.
Born in Zanesville, OH, he was a son of
the late Richard Andrew Parry and Eloise (Clapper) Carpenter. He graduated from
Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, OH.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the
U.S. Air Force as a B-52 pilot.
Al was a commercial airline pilot for 31
years with Eastern Airlines and Northwest Airlines prior to his retirement in
2002. Following that, he and his wife Nancy enjoyed many years of RV travel
throughout the US and Canada.
He enjoyed many hobbies and was a member
of the American Association of Woodturners, the Lehigh Valley Woodturners and
the Gulf Coast Mineral, Fossil and Gem Club.
Al was also a member of Quakertown United
Methodist Church and served on the Endowment Committee.
Surviving with his wife are his son
Richard Parry, wife Maureen of Harleysville and daughter, Stacey Parry France of
Mount Airy, MD; grandchildren, Jake, Maddie, Emma and Richie; brother, John D.
Carpenter, wife Pam of Birmingham, AL. He was predeceased by a daughter, Carole
Ann Parry and a sister, Marie A. Spinks.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM,
Tuesday, June 30th at Quakertown United Methodist Church, 1875 Freier Rd.,
Quakertown. Friends may call from 9:30-11:00 AM at the church.
