Belated notice with the passing of
retired Delta pilot Captain Christopher 'Chris' Michael Doerr, age 74. Captain
Doerr joined Delta Air Lines 03-14-1969 and retired in 2001, based 030/CVG. He
is survived by his wife Kathryn.

Christopher Michael Doerr, 74, of
Pendleton, passed away on July 24, 2015. He was born to Robert and Mary Francis
Doerr on March 23, 1941, in Anderson. Chris earned a degree in pharmacy from
Purdue University in 1963. He served the cause of freedom as a captain in the
United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was awarded The Air Medal and
two Distinguished Flying Crosses. He enjoyed a 32-year career with Delta
Airlines; reaching the rank of captain before his retirement. He worked as a
registered pharmacist and as a proprietor of a small farm. He was a member of
St. Ambrose Catholic Church and a volunteer for the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Doris Daugherty. Chris
also was preceded in death by grandchildren Tyler and Ashley Augustinovicz.
Chris is survived by wife, Kathryn Ann (Sokol) Doerr; daughter,
Susan (Greg) Augustinovicz of Middletown; son, the Rev. Brian Doerr, vice rector
at Mount St. Mary Seminary, Emmitsburg, Md.; son, the Rev. Richard Doerr,
pastor, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carmel; son, David (Marya) Doerr
Anderson; daughter, Sarah (Carl) Eber, Columbia, Mo.; daughter, Elizabeth
(Brandon) Gorney, Knightstown; son, Matthew Doerr, Pendleton, and Matthew's
girlfriend, Randi Schuck; sister, Ruth Ann Daugherty; 15 grandchildren, Kyle
(Ashlee), Nicholas, Zachary (Shelbi), Johnmichael, Annamarie and Christopher
Augustinovicz, Victoria Eber, and Isabella, Kateri, JohnPaul, Gabriel, Cecilia,
and Luciana Gorney, and four great-grandchildren, Ava, Uriah, Alli and Scarlett
Augustinovicz. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on
Monday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic
Church Narthex, with a Rosary following the visitation led by Rev. Alejandro
Paternoster. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday
at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Maplewood
Cemetery, Anderson, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to
the St. Vincent De Paul Society, c/o St. Ambrose Parish, 2801 Lincoln St.,
