Western/Delta pilot Captain Patrick Joseph Schachle, age 82. Captain Schachle
joined Western Airlines 02-27-1961 and retired with Delta Airlines, based LAX.
He was widowed in September 1996 with the passing of his wife Sharon Kay Leritz

Obituary.....................Patrick
Joseph (PJ) Schachle, 82, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 10, 2016. He
was born at Canute, Oklahoma in Washita County on September 24, 1933 to John
Thomas, Sr, and Teresa (Simon) Schachle. His grandparents were Stephan and
Katherine (Klein) Schachle and John and Emma (Jennings) Simon. PJ attended St.
Francis Catholic School and graduated in 1950 from Holy Family Catholic High
School, both of Canute, Oklahoma. He later joined the United States Air Force.
PJ got his pilot’s license and became a commercial pilot for Western Airlines
which later became Delta Air Lines. He eventually became Captain. PJ enjoyed
giving rides in his airplane to his nieces and nephews.
He was married to Sharon Leritz on November 30, 1963. She passed away in 1996. They had no children.
PJ also had a love of music. He played the guitar and sang and was in a band for some time. He has always enjoyed songs by Johnny Cash.
Pat enjoyed owning quarter horses and the family enjoyed watching the winning horses race at Los Alamitos Park, California and Remington Park, Oklahoma.
Pat shared his time between California and his home state of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents as well as his siblings, Charles Schachle, Mary Louise Hodgson, Kathie Wilhelm, John Thomas Schachle, Jr, Emma Jo (Sr. Roberta) Schachle, James Schachle and Teresa Ryan.
He is survived by sister in law, Teresa (Schwarz) Schachle, and many cousins, nieces , nephews and friends.

Patrick was a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma
at the time of his passing.
