Wife Sandra..... 1935-2007
Sandra Ann Balch, age 72, of Northfield, died Saturday,
Nov. 10, 2007, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, surrounded by her husband and
family after suffering a heart attack. Sandra was born Jan. 24, 1935, in Minneapolis, daughter of Wallace and Catherine (Mans) Thies and graduated from Edison High School in 1952. She married Merle Wefel, and together the couple had 10 children. They later divorced, and she became the sole provider and caregiver for her children. In 1978 she met the love of her life, Wayne Balch, and the two married on Nov. 30, 1985.
Sandy spent her life loving and caring for her family. She continued to be the caregiver for her son, Glenn, until her death. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would spoil them at every opportunity. Sandy lived every day being the best wife and mother she could be. The world was a better place and her children better people because of her. There are simply no words to explain what her life meant to others...........................................
