Belated notice, and as noted in the Nov/Dec 2018 ALPA Air Line Pilot
magazine's In Memoriam columns .... the passing of retired North
Central/Republic/Northwest Airlines pilot James ‘Ron’ Irwin, age 74. Captain
Irwin is survived by his wife Cheryl, their children and
grandchildren.

Obituary.................... Irwin, James
Captain James “Ron“ Irwin (ret.) died quietly in his sleep on
September 29, 2018. Born to Wes and Helen Irwin in Baxter Springs, Kansas
September 11, 1944. He was also much loved by his grandmother Virginia "Virgie"
Burrows. Surviving family members include his wife Cheryl Cloud, two sons, Jon
wife/Jill and Jaye wife/Jody all of Connecticut, two grandsons Quinn and Cole,
and brother Doug and wife Judy of Milwaukee.
Ron had over 40 years flying experience first as an instructor
and chief pilot for Texas Aeronautics and Martin Aviation while pursuing a
passion for flying that led him to North Central and Republic Airlines before
retiring from Northwest Airlines in 2004 after 30 years of service.
Private services were held. Pending memorial gathering for a
celebration of life to be announced.
Donations may be made to NRA, Ruffed Grouse Society and/or
Trout Unlimited.
