USAF veteran, NWA Capt. Charles G. ‘Greg’ Gillies
March 6, 1939 – January 12, 2019
News has reached our group with the passing of RNPA member
retired Northwest pilot Captain Charles Gregory ‘Greg’ Gillies, age 79. Captain
Gillies joined Northwest Airlines 09-13-1965. He is survived by his wife Janet,
his children and grandchildren.

Charles was born on March 6, 1939 and passed away on Saturday,
January 12, 2019. Charles was a resident of Minnesota at the time of passing.
Greg was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He served in the U.S. Air
Force for five years, and was a pilot for twenty-eight years with Northwest
Airlines. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the University of
Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center (www.give.umn.edu/giveto/mmcc) or Prince of

Charles Gregory Gillies was born in Boston, MA on March 6th,
1939, and passed away January 12th, 2019. Survived by his wife of 53 years,
Janet and his children: Steve (Christine) and Michelle (Jim) and his five
grandchildren: Nathan, Jordan, Jessica, Christopher and Megan. Greg was a
graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He served in the U.S. Air Force for
five years, and was a pilot for twenty-eight years with Northwest Airlines.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran
Church in Burnsville, MN on January 22nd, 2019. 13901 Fairview Drive,
Burnsville, MN 55337. Visitation at 10:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM. In lieu
