August 17, 1923 ~ April 27, 2020


Notification with the passing of RNPA member retired Northwest pilot Captain Thomas George Boos, age 96.  Captain Boos first joined Northwest Airlines 11-12-1947.  He is survived by his wife Irene along with his children plus their grand- and great grandchildren.  Obituary information is available online at

Obituary…………….Boos, Thomas G.
Tom was a Second Lieutenant in the Army Airforce. Tom was flying as a Flight Engineer on B29 Aircraft when the war ended. After the war Tom worked for Northwest Airlines for 46 years. Starting as a groomer he obtained his Aircraft and Engine License. Tom then went on to work as a Mechanic, Inspector, Flight Engineer and Pilot. Tom first flew a Stearman open cockpit bi-plane and flew many piston and jet aircraft all over the world. He retired as a pilot on the Boeing 747.
A strong family man, Tom was slowed down by a stroke at the age of 73. With rehab and the support of his wife Irene "Bebo" Boos Tom was able to regain his independence and enjoy his family life.
Preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by his loving wife Irene "Bebo" Boos (married 73 years), his sons Jeff (Diane) Boos, Brad (Debra) Boos, and Mitch Boos. (6) Grandchildren Christy (Brandon) Manary, Tony (Jen) Boos, Tara (Keaton) Gustin, Alyssa (Kevin) Boos, Tyler (Bria) Boos, Kaylene (Ben) Alexander. Eight Wonderful Great-grandchildren. His siblings Charles Boos, Patricia Sperry, and James (Doris) Boos.
God be with you Tom on your last flight. We will miss you. You are our hero. A private service is planned at St.Vincent de Paul, burial at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
