Military veteran, NWA/DL Capt. Craig Matthew Davis
November 18, 1957 ~ June 12, 2020




As noted in the September issue of ALPA's The Air Line Pilot magazine IN MEMORIAM column ….the passing of Northwest/Delta pilot Captain Craig Matthew Davis, age 62.  Captain Davis joined Northwest Airlines 10-13-1989 and continued on with Delta Air Lines.  He is survived by his wife Kelly, by his children and his grandchildren.

Obituary:  Craig M. Davis, age 62, of Farmington, MN went to be with his Lord on June 12, 2020 surrounded by his loving family after a swift but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Craig was born in Opelika, AL on November 18th, 1957. He grew up in Longwood, FL where he was named Male Athlete of the Year at Lake Brantley HS in 1975. Craig attended the University of Florida on an ROTC scholarship. After graduating from the University of Florida in 1979, he became a fighter pilot in the United States Navy. While on board the USS Enterprise, his squadron deployed to the Indian Ocean. He completed his Naval career in the Minneapolis Reserve Unit earning the rank of Commander.
Craig served as a pilot for Northwest Airlines and later Delta Air Lines for over thirty years. He was an active member within his church, serving on the finance committee and volunteering. He also served on the Farmington School Board for five years. An avid reader, he enjoyed learning and never placed his education on pause. Craig enjoyed physical activities such as working out, biking and skiing. Outside his work as a pilot, he was an enthusiastic traveler and he and his wife enjoyed destinations such as Italy, Alaska, Nova Scotia, Tahoe, and Oregon.
Craig left a lasting impression on all who had the opportunity to meet him. He was deeply loved and will be missed by his surviving family which includes wife Kelly, daughter Ashley (Seth) Bohlken, son Trey (Jessica) Davis, son Trevor Davis, daughter Averi Davis, grandchildren, Eleanor Davis and Everly Bohlken, father Jefferson Davis, brother Mark (Kyle) Davis, brother Kyle Davis, sister Tracey Davis, nieces and nephews Kirt Davis, Cameron Davis, Sydney Davis, and Brock Davis. He is preceded in death by mother Joy Davis, mother-in-law Marcia Herndon, father-in-law Bob Herndon, and sister-in-law Lisa Davis.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 18th at The Well Church in Rosemount, Minnesota from 4-6pm. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, June 19th at The Well Church in Rosemount, Minnesota at 2pm.
