___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Belated news comes to us with the passing of retired Northeast/Delta pilot Captain Harold Lee Trenholm, age 92.  Captain Trenholm joined Northeast Airlines 06-09-1958 and retired with Delta Air Lines in 1987, based Boston.  Daughter Nancee Trenholm Peters writes:  To all former and retired Northeast and Delta flight crew and employees. On September 1, 2020 Captain H. Lee Trenholm flew West. He had an amazing life and was living in Lakeland, Florida at the time. Due to COVID-19 he will be laid to rest in the spring of 2021 in Nahant Massachusetts beside his wife. A full obituary will follow his burial.”

Captain Trenholm had most recently resided at 722 Lake Larch Dr., Lakeland, FL 33805.

Look for a full obituary to follow…as more is learned we will be sure to update our memorial sites.

Thank you,

  2. Dear Trenholm family,
We extend our deepest sympathy in the loss of your father. We met Lee and Dee in Bar Harbor Maine at the Blue Nose Inn while listening to our favorite piano player. We retired to Winter Haven, Florida in 2017. We were able to spend some time visiting and dining with them in recent years.

Lee told us many interesting stories of his flights into Bangor (our former hometown) when he worked for Northeast Airlines. He truly loved his career.

We enjoyed Lee’s friendship for many years. He was a wonderful man!! We will miss him very much!!

    Best regards,
    Rodney & Karen Duplisea
