Military veteran, NWA Capt. Douglas L. BAKER

March 7, 1942 ~ April 18, 2021

 


Word has reached our group with news of the passing of RNPA member retired Northwest pilot Captain Douglas Lowell BAKER, age 79.  Captain Baker joined Northwest Airlines 11-04-1968.  He is survived by his wife Libby plus many more dear family members and friends.

Obituary  :  Douglas L. BAKER, age 79, passed away peacefully April 18, 2021, surrounded by family. Doug proudly served his country in the National Guard Army Reserves and two tours of duty in Vietnam. Doug was a retired Northwest Airlines pilot. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Dorothy Baker, children, Jennifer and Jim, brother David, sister Stella Brink, and Garth Brink. Doug is survived by his loving wife, Libby, son Scott and partner Shelly; grandson, Jordan; step-children, Christine (Owen), Nancy (Rob), Jim (Kathleen), five step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, brothers Carl, Kirk (Marilyn), many cousins, nieces and nephews, and last but certainly not least, his beloved furry companion, Ginger.

Service will be held in Davenport, FL, April 29, 2021. Military service and burial at Fort Snelling, MN will be held in July, date TBD. A celebration of life will also be held in Elma, NY, late July 2021. The family would like to thank all the care givers at Estates of Roseville and the hospice program who were all amazing. Please make donations to "Beyond the Yellow Ribbon" or your local animal shelter.
